Fantastic! 1/12/2011

My husband and I live in Northwestern New Jersey and heard a commercial for Pangea on 99.9FM, WOED Allentown. We were headed to the Poconos one day for some gambling and decided to stop in for dinner. The food was amazing and the service just as great! We have since returned two other times and are planning to return within the next month. It is well worth the drive. The food is full of flavor and the best Indian I have tasted. I continue the search for an Indian restaurant in New Jersey that has a menu to compare to Pangea's. I am still looking. If you love Indian food, I highly recommend Pangea. You won't be disappointed. more

horrible experience 12/27/2010

After reading the reviews for this place I am extremely suprised at my experience. I always pass Pangea and my girlfriend and I have always wanted to stop in. I have lived here my entire life and frequent just about every restaurant around. we always eat out. So we stop in, are greeted at the door and we choose to sit at the bar to have a couple drinks while we look at the menu. The menu looked great, after 10 minutes, we knew what we were going to order. Now at this time, three people had walked behind the bar and without even so much as eye contact left again. I excused myself to the bathroom, returned and still no one had asked my girlfriend what she would like. We waited an additional 10 minutes and feeling like we were ghosts and actually embarrassed we started putting our coats back on. no one seemed to care that we were leaving. I almost felt as if we were being discriminated against. more

A wonderful dinning experience 12/30/2008

This restaurant is a must if you like Indian food. The food is authentic and service were outstanding! I would love to go back whenever I can. They have an extensive indian menu, but they also carry other types of foods as well, like italian and american. The decor was beautiful. Its a great place for all occasions! Pros: Authtentic Food, Great Friendly Service, Easy to find Cons: Can be busy around the holidays more

A unique dining experience in the Poconos 11/5/2008

We happened to be dining in Pangea this weekend and I have to say the food was amazingly flawless. The appetizers - crispy crunchy-sweet onion pakoras and the gently-spiced fresh samosas were so tasty that I could have made a meal out of them alone! I am a vegetarian, so the menu was abundant with choices (not a usual occurrence in most eating places!). After a lot of thought, I ordered a spring dosa and my companions ordered the paneer-stuffed dosa, and the chole puri, all promising to share so that everyone could have a taste. Our dishes arrived piping hot and savory and we began eating. I enjoyed the generous filling of potato, cabbage, cauliflowers, each mouthful full of the taste of fresh vegetables mingled with spices and before I knew it there was nothing left on my plate! Needless to say, the others had polished off theirs too. Admittedly, we were all ravenous but there was no doubt that when delicious food appears before one it can vanish before you say abracadabra. I skipped the dessert (too full) but had a couple of forkfuls of the raspberry cheesecake from the plate of one of my companions - it was rich, dense with flavor but not overpoweringly sweet (one of my pet peeves about cheesecake) and I regretted stuffing on the dosa.\r \r The service was very good, friendly and ready to answer all questions, inspite of their obviously busy schedule. I liked the decor too - understated elegance - and the music was clearly popular, judging by the amount of people on the dance floor. All in all, a classic meal in a classic setting and singularly different from the usual dining spots in the Poconos which tend to lean heavily towards meat and starch. I left promising myself that I would definitely be back. Pros: Plenty of parking. Just off Route 611, easy to find. Cons: The lights could have been brighter. more

Greatest Varity of Food in PA 12/31/2007

I am visiting from California and have been round the world and eaten many types of restaurants. My experience at Pangea will be cherished for years to come. I enjoyed the wide variety of Indo-Chinese, Indian, Italian, and American dishes. I visited the restaurant on two occasions. The staff is very friendly and the owner has a nice sense of humor which makes you feel at ease. The atmosphere is cool and soothing. In short, Pangea has everything to great time.I will make it a point to visit the restaurant on my next visit to the Pocanose. more

Best example of fusion food-- at moderate prices! 3/13/2007

First of all, Pangea is UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP and the new owners are great! I have been to Pangea for lunch and dinner and the menu is outstanding! It is so hard to choose from all the great choices. Also, if you go with your vegetarian sister, your meat-loving dad, or the picky eater in your family, there is sure to be something that appeals to everyone. With so many choices and categories on the menu, the longest part of your meal will be choosing what to order!! The service was friendly and quick, even though I went during the holiday season, and the new owners have really made the place a success. If you're in town for a business meeting, the lunch menu is very reasonably priced, with an exotic selection of sandwich and wrap platters. Great for a romantic dinner too, with a lovely, serene mood, and awesome cocktails. Hope you try this new place and like it as much as I did! Pros: Ambience, mood, great drinks menu, classy food Cons: Go on the weekend for a great atmosphere, during the week can be quiet. more

Pocono's Best Dining Experience: Food from all over the world -- impressive! 3/13/2007

Pangea: ""Something for Everyone."" I've vacationd in the Pocono area for the last 15 years, and I've never had such consistently pleasing and diverse meals. I've returned with friends and family for both lunch and dinner within the same day! The restaurant used to be ""Anthony's,"" but the new owners since Feb. 2006 completely turned it around with a chic NYC style decor (waterfalls, flatscreen tv, light panels that change color), world music, friendly service, and tastes unmatched anywhere in the Poconos. They've got a reputation for unique plate presentations during lunch and dinner, creative cocktails, and attentive service -- the new owners are always available and greeting people. Whether you're looking for a bar with exotic drinks/desserts, a romantic dinner for two, or down-to-earth family dining, this is place never fails to be the favorite for the pickiest of eaters. Pros: Quality, preparation, variety, and creativity of meals is well worth slightly higher prices. Friendly new owners go out of their ways to ensure superior service Cons: If you're looking for a run-of-the mill diner, Pangea is not the place for you. Also Poconos' best kept secret - not widely known since it's recently opened more

Great food. Pricey but worth it. 6/28/2006

Anytime our family is in the area on vacation, we absolutely include Anthony's in our schedule. The food is fresh, seasoned great, portions to fill, and the service is excellent. If you haven't been there you must and with an appetite. Pros: Great Food Cons: Can be busy. more
