I had the unfortunate experience of visiting Nando on a Sunday night while I was visiting my grandmother in Florida. Although my grandmother is a snowbird, in the past, she has frequented this place on a fairly regular basis. The evening started off well enough, but was then interrupted by a tone-deaf Florida local who decided that he would serenade the place, which was comprised of at least 5-6 tables of seated customers. If you want to be accosted by someone who cannot sing, and a manager who will acquiesce to the man because, in her words, “he is regular,” then this is your place. You can have mediocre food – a thin overcooked pork chop, over dressed salad, and an unbelievably obnoxious manager/owner, who would rather have her paying customers subjected to karaoke than an enjoyable dinner, then this is your place. Expect a karaoke bar, as opposed to a four-star restaurant; a manager that will fault you if you complain; and, a manager/owner who will cheer on a local tone deaf Floridian patron that frequents her establishment (the bar) all year long, while subjecting paying customers to vocal torture. Florida is saturated with wonderful Italian restaurants. This is no longer one of them.
