May be okay for appetizers and drinks--but if you want dinner, eat someplace else. 5/23/2008

PF Chang's China Bistro is a beautiful place! The decor is stunning. The wait staff is accomodating and personable, too bad the food is awful. We started our meal with shrimp potstickers and fried String beans. The goo on the inside of the potstickers did not taste like it had been cooked all the way, however the fried string beans were tasty. Our entrees included the Kung Pao chicken, Mu shu chicken and spicy stir fried egg plant. The Kung pao chicken was super salty and dry and lacked any real flavor besides the soy sauce. We could see the chilli pods in the dish, however we tasted no spice. The mu shu chicken was served with flour tortillas (instead of the typical pancakes). It looked as it someone dumped a bag of precut cabbage slaw mix with some leftover chicken. It tasted like 'assembly food'--the type of food you would find on a dollar menu of a fast food chain, not a restaurant. The stir fry sauce came from a can or jar--something along the quality of La Choy. The egg plant tasted like a frozen product--left in the freezer too long--it had a 'freezer burn' taste topped with a tasteless 'plastic sauce'. We asked for the dish to be done again because it also lacked spice (as described in the menu). The redone dish was exactly like the first and we could not eat it--which confirmed my theory--it was probably a frozen product with a sauce packet, microwaved and served. I have had a few things in the past, like the lettuce wraps, soups, spring rolls, mixed drinks and they were not bad--not great but not bad. The dinner selections have been consistantly sad or mediocre at best. We ate here nearly 2 years ago and decided to give it another try. We are not coming back. I think if you are are the type that does not like food that is too exotic and you are out with friends for cocktails and munchies, then this may be an okay place to try. If you want decent chinese fare, go someplace else. Trust me, Panda Express is better... Pros: Beautiful place, great location Cons: Bad food--really really bad food more

Not trustworthy on reservations. 5/19/2008

First, they serve excellent food--no argument. This is my complaint: We made a reservation for 4 and took a client and his wife to PF Changs. When we got to the reception table, we were told that we had no reservations (even though we had a reservation number) and no tables were available. Embarrassing? You bet. Well, we went on to another restaurant, but the evening was tarnished and awkward after that. I called the next day and talked to the manager. He was most apologetic, and graciously offered us a gift certificate to come back. He took our name, address, and promised it would be in the next mail. We have never received the gift certificate. It was bad enough not having our reservation honored, but then to offer and not send the gift certificate tells us that we were not valued customers. They just did not care. Their attitude says it all. Sadly, because this restaurant could be great. Pros: Really good food Cons: Not trustworthy on reservations; tables too crowded more

Great date night Chinese food! 10/5/2007

We met some friends there for a night out. Wow, fantastic food, we didn't leave a thing on any of the various plates we tried. I also enjoyed the ambiance of the place, modern and elegant. The service was fast and great, especially when you consider how very busy they were! For a chain restaurant, it makes a very good impression and can compete with other fine dining facilities in town. The prices are great too. Pros: Great food, awesome price, good service more
