This is the best restaurant in the Winston area. We go rarely because it is over $30/ person but it is by far my favorite. We prefer to go Monday through Thursday because there is no wait. My two kids (7 & 4) love food and they are welcome but it is definitely not a ""family restaurant"". Pros: Great steaks, mushrooms and ice cream. Cons: Costly. more

This was for a family dinner. Nine of us met at OutWest for my granddaughter's seventh birthday. The wait, for a Friday evening, was acceptable; approximately 45 minutes. We arrived around 6:30 p.m. The service was slow, but the waitress was very good. She had a wonderful personality without being obnoxious, silly, or over-the-top. When the food finally came, it was well worth the wait. The ribeye, ribs, grilled chicken, garlic shrimp was tender and tasty. The salads were fresh with homemade dressings. Our appetizer was the Texas Onion. It was sweet and not over-fried. Coffee was just the right strength and not bitter. The tea was good and not too awefully sweet. All in all, we enjoyed ourselves. The slow service gave us an opportunity to unwind from a busy week and the family was able to enjoy conversation without much interruption. I recommend OutWest to anyone who want a relaxing atmosphere without someone rushing them to eat and leave. We really enjoy going to OutWest. They have some very good steaks, the fish is excellent, and their appetizers are really different and good. Pros: Excellent food, Good Service Cons: Kind of out of the way more

Let me say that I was the ring leader in the surprise birthday party as mentioned below as I was the one that waited an hour because they dont take reservations. We should have known they had no class just by that because a true upperscale restaurant would take reservations for ten people on a sat night. During my hour wait I seen all types of people including a female sitting at the bar who looked as if she was headed to dance the night away at a topless club. But mgmt or the lack there of didnt have a problem with that because she had female objects hanging out where as my male friend with the beater on did not . If they truely had an issue with his attire, why was he allowed to stand in their bar for 30 min with it on while people are eating in there? Whats the difference in eating in the bar Vs eating in the dining room. Are the same germs not floating throughout the whole building? Sure they are. So needless to say this was a bad experience and I will never go back. Pros: Nothing!! Cons: Lack of mgmt and lack of class! more

After years of eating there, The air conditioner is not working, after making owner aware of problem, "" He explained, will take weeks to fix, too long to shut down, to fix , sorry for the inconvience"" This was large celebration, Always had good food, good service, Didnt know he was going to cook my guests , as well as me! Outwest Steakhouse and Saddleroom is a great dining experience, whether you are dining with your family or your date. The food is excellent and they have daily specials that are well worth trying. The restaurant is family owned and operated. You can even see one of the owners in the open kitchen window most days. more
