The ONLY thing good about Outback Crab Shack is the long dock behind it along Six Mile Creek. Unfortunately, the signs say you must be a restaurant patron to enjoy the dock. Sure, it is rustic and has a lot of potential to be a really great place; too bad the food is WAY overpriced and many of the servers are young and don't seem to have much between their ears. It wasn't busy when we visited, yet it took at least 10 minutes for us to get our sodas. Then the server forgot about the appetizer we requested, the fried pickles, so it didn't come out until AFTER we got our entrees. To make matters worse, the pickles chips were greasy and WAY overseasoned. We ordered the 1/2 size Low Country boil for approx $37 which included a couple of crab clusters with very little meat, shrimp that were decent, one corn on the cob, two small potatoes, a couple of broccoli heads and a GAZILLION crawdads that both looked and tasted DISGUSTING. The platter was impressive when it was first brought to the table, but that was only because the good stuff was on top. Once we finished that and were STILL hungry, the only thing left was the crawdads. If you assume that we did not eat those, you would be correct. The bill was $51 and change, which included the pickle chips we didn't eat (any good restaurant would have taken the initiative to remove them from the bill for being forgotten). WAY OVERPRICED. TERRIBLE SERVICE. I will NEVER go back again, which is disappointing because I was there a year ago and it was terrific. Something fishy has happened to the management of the Crab Shack.
