Had this guy named Maki from supposedly Otto Concrete come out to give us a bid on a concrete patio and walkway. Should have known we'd get bad results for 5 dollars a square foot for stamped colored concrete. He used dry colored powder after he had told us he'd have the color mixed in the concrete before it was poured. We now have discolored concrete throughout the concrete and he even missed an area that should have been stamped. When we addressed these problems to him, his response was, ""how much money do you want back."" We withheld the second payment due to our dissatisfaction of our concrete and verbal agreement we had made prior to signing the contract that if we weren't 100% satisfied with the work, he doesn't get paid until everything is right. He later tells us to keep the second payment and use it to get the color fixed with a credible contractor, which was great. Now three days later, he calls us to inform us he put a lien on our house due to him not getting paid. What a crook! I guess we'll see him in small claims court, so please do not hire this contractor who promises quality work at a cheaper price. I urge you not to believe ServiceMagic reviews, they are posted by the company, and they'll never show any bad reviews because the company pays them not to. I should have known something was fishy when he calls a residence at 7:30 AM to inquire about a lead he got from ServiceMagic. I can't warn you enough, DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY! IT WILL BE A HUGE MISTAKE!
