Orange Salon

I have been going to Orange Salon for about a year now. My stylist is Alycia. She does an amazing job! When I first went for my haircut, I chopped off 9.5 inches. She explained how she styled it so I could repeat it at home. So helpful! It made going pixie so much more relaxing. more

When it comes to setting the standard for upscale salons in central mass nobody does it better than Orange Salon. A big part of this is their amazing well trained professional staff. The anchor of the staff is Rachael C. I have seen many faces come and go over the years but one face has always stayed the same and that is Rachael’s. Expect of course when she changes her hair color and even then she still looks amazing. This is to be expected though because Orange Salon does her hair. more

Had my first appointment at Orange this morning and was very happy with the cut and the service I received. I found the price to be quite reasonable ($35 for a cut & blow dry with a ""junior stylist"" so maybe a non-junior would be more). But Lily was great -- very concerned about how I liked the cut and happy to make it a little shorter when I asked.\r \r And the chairs at the wash sinks have back massagers!!!! Between them and the hand and arm massage while the conditioner is doing its work, I figure I'll be bald in a few weeks because I'll keep going back for haircuts. ;)\r \r Plus they're open on Sundays?!?! I definitely found my new salon... more

I have been serviced by Danielle for quite some time now, and she does an amazing job! I have never found a stylist who can do short haircuts like her! However, I have had multiple bitter experiences with the managers daughter and she ruins the environment the owner works so hard to build, to the point I will no longer be a client of this salon. I am sad to say this, because I love love love Danielle, but after my last appointment, I felt like I was back in high school. Not only was she extremely rude when I arrived and talked to me as though I was a moron, but while waiting for Danielle, I heard her gossiping with, what I believe to be a client, about other clients in the salon and the owner himself! I have met Paul several times and he is a genuinely kind person and his employees should have more respect for him, and must I say what she was saying about the owner is completley untrue. This made me feel as though she was going to discuss myself after I left, so I am sorry to say I will not be returning, at least until she is replaced. Sorry Danielle! more

One word: Amazing.\r \r I am new in town, and do not have any references for great services, shops, restaurants, etc. So I rely mainly upon online reviews. Which is why more people need to go out of their way to give reviews for great places (people are so much more likely to complain than to give praise). Myself included. I am a hypocrite. I do not do as much online reviewing as I should, especially considering how much I rely upon it.\r \r Ok, so back to Orange Salon. My hair was literally butchered by a previous ""stylist"" (and that term is generous). After reading many rave reviews on here and Yelp, I decided to make an appointment with Paul to attempt to fix my excuse for a hairstyle. I was literally hoping for a miracle, because I had never hated my hair so much as I have the past few months. And did he deliver. \r \r The entire experience was divine. I was pampered, massaged, relaxed, and left looking amazing. Paul transformed my hair. My fine, limp hair no longer hangs there with uneven angles and botched layers. It has body, life and most importantly, makes me feel wonderful and confident again. If you haven't been there yet, you need to go there. Even if you think you are happy at your current salon/stylist, you have to give this place a chance. It is not just a hair cut/style/color/treatment/whatever. It is a relaxing, spa-like experience. The complimentary treatments such as head/arm/hand massage and the makeup touch-up leave you feeling pampered and appreciated. \r \r For any complaints about price, you get what you pay for. I am from NY, and of course, anything here in MA is less expensive than NY, but regardless, Orange Salon is worth every penny. You can easily pay double what I paid here at a salon in NY, and not get the service, the pampering, nor the expertise that Orange Salon offers. \r \r So in summary, six stars. Seriously, you won't be disappointed. more

I was really tired of going to the same salon I had been going to for many years. No one there would take the time to ask me about my color or cut. I heard many good things about Orange Salon and decided to make an appointment for a color and cut. This was not an easy decision because I am the type of person who does not like change! I can't say enough about what a wonderful experience it was! My stylist was Rachel and she was amazing. She talked to me about the color of my hair and made suggestions to update my look. My color and cut looks great! Also, Rachel gave me suggestions about the best products to use for my hair and they have certainly made the difference. For those who complain about the high prices, all I can say is that ""you get what you pay for."" I have found a new salon and I am thrilled! Thank you Rachel! more

I have been a stylist for 19 years, I have had many haircuts, but never loved a cut more than Paul's! I decided to treat myself to a haircut with Paul because I wanted to be the ""client"" for once. I was impressed with the service from start to finish! I got a ton of compliments on my haircut!! Worth every penny, especially when I can get it cut at my own salon for nothing! more

I have been a client of Paul’s for years, I could get my hair done anywhere and before meeting Paul I did and I was never with a stylist very long. I met Paul in the Boston Salon and followed him to Newton and I was thrilled for him when he opened Orange Salon and is finally in our neighborhood. \r \r These positive reviews you are reading are 100% on - The salon is beautiful, Paul does amazing work - my hair has never been healthier or looked better and I color it on a regular basis.\r \r His staff is wonderful, incredibly knowledgeable, professional and very talented. You will be well taken care of in this salon. \r \r To the person that commented on the shampoo massage chairs - I know right... where else are you going to get a back massage and a warm towel and lotion hand and arm massage all while getting your hair shampooed - it just doesn't get any better!!!\r \r Love this salon, Paul and his staff - if I could give this more than 5 stars I would !!!\r \r more

Sitting here getting the VERY best pedicure and manicure. CLEAN. Looking at hair people and it seems very good. But the hot towels, the glasses of this bubbly lemon stuff, nice smells and sounds, Paula, my pedicurist :) Love the wifi too, and they smile more

I had a ridiculously bad experience at another salon where a dunkin donuts drinking monkey took some scissors to my hair and completely hacked it. I went to Orange because while just saying hi to a friend in there Paul and one of the stylist overhearing my trauma came over and started to throw ideas (very professionally) of how they could fix my now mullet. Elise WAS AMAZING!!! not only did she fix it, she made it edgy which totally fits my personal style! Your entire experience is relaxing, reassuring and high- class. Totally worth the price when you think about the package- consult, amazing hair, hand massage, AND make-up touch up. Plus they only use no animal tested products....I RECOMMEND THIS SALON TO EVERYONE:) more

I've always been concerned about coloring my hair. Paul matched my natural red color perfectly, actually I think he improved it ;-) I cannot tell you how many salons cannot get red's right!! \r \r He is honest and straight forward, politely letting me know when I want something that wont work for me. But he is also quick to point out things that will. He's taylored a coloring & cut program that suits my lifestyle (minimalistic - maybe getting there 3x/year). \r \r The service is fantastic! Great shampoos, massage, appointment booking etc. Worth every penny! I travel over an hour just to go there.\r \r more

Hello readers and reviewers. We love our clients, book one hour appointments for haircuts and carefully listen to our clients both in the consultation and at the end of service. We always welcome any call back for adjustment of services and frankly, only find our critics to be other salon owners. Their IP addresses are recorded at posting... so we know who you are! There is NO privacy on the internet. As for the Newbury st comment, no consumer, only an out of date stylist would use such terms. more

A average cut and thats about it,not worth the price as there are other salons in the area with Better prices and more importantly far better personal service. A nice place but by the sounds of it Paul is the only pro there. more

I made an appointment and had no idea I had been scheduled with Paul, the owner. Paul discussed the problems with my hair, and offered reasonable and cost effective solutions. He took his time, (VERY PATIENT) and made sure I was comfortable every moment (even offered to order out my dinner, if I was hungry). While having my hair washed, (after full foil) the massage chair was activated and I was given a HOT hand massage with lotion. After spending time blow-drying my hair with precision and patience, I was offered a free make up touch up! All services included: Consultation, full foil, 2nd color to tone down the brassy color I had done to myself, scalp massage and wash, glaze, toner, 2 stage deep conditioner, massage, cut, blow-dry and style with flat iron). I am amazed!! Thank you Paul and Staff for a wonderful experience and the best hair cut I have ever had. I will definitely be back!! :) more

Great hair like I've never had, and I've been to every salon in Worcester and many in Boston. Didn't know I could look so good, then they taught me more about makeup in 15 minutes than I ever learned in my 37 years. So quiet and relaxing, nicer than the casino spas. I've never had a stylist pay so much attention before. Paul the owner is fantastic! My hair has never looked or felt better. The blow dry was camera worthy and lasted for day's! Thanks Orange.....nice to have some class in the area! Pros: Ultimate customer service! Cons: None! more
