All it takes is One Good Woman? Not when it comes to moving your belongings. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.
One Good Woman Moving had been hired to do my office move at 5.30pm one day. They called and confirmed that day. 5.30pm came and went. We called them several times - of course no answer. When we finally got though to them at 7.15pm, they weren't far away.... Another 15 minutes, and a rental van arrived.
The movers (the "chief" and four others) looked around the office suite. We had some desks, table/chairs/sofa/a cooler /some pictures and twelve movers boxes. One Good Woman Moving was given in good time a full spec of what we had to move. Amazingly, One Good Woman Moving hadn't brought a dolly or anything to assist with the move. And because they hadnt' brought anything to assist, they told me it would take several hours to move. They started to carry the boxes out stacked two high on our office chairs!
I spoke to the chief and asked him to call "One Good Woman". I was very concerned that I had to pay more because they hadn't brought the proper tools for a move. They spoke, but the owner wouldn't speak to me. You see, it being 8.00pm by this time, she was with her family, but we COULD speak the next morning.
One Good Woman Moving then took the first six or eight boxes downstairs. About 15 minutes later, they returned with the boxes. They had decided, at 8.30pm not to move me, as they'd finish too late. The "chief" delegated his number two to tell me this, it seems he couldn't face me himself. They did (to the best of my knowledge) return all the boxes.
This was extremely annoying. As a small business, we have lost a day of trading as a result. It was only when I got home I checked the business rating for One Good Woman Moving, I realized the mistake I had made. I wish I had checked this before.
My advice would be to look elsewhere for a reputable company. Home or office, One Good Woman Moving aren't the company to use.
Pros: There were none
Cons: Two hours late, no tools for the job, walked out, no customer care
