great place for clothes 2/10/2011

Once upon a child in wauwatosa is one of the best childrens stores I have ever been to, and I go to a lot of childrens consignment stores. They have a lot of clothes most of which are brand name so they are a little high priced than walmart or target clothes, but that also means that they are cuter and better quality! I shopped there for the first time a few weeks ago and they had a bunch of clearance items for $1. I have been back twice since. They are well organized and the clothes are all by color and size and gender. I like to buy things and return them to see if they fit my daughter so she doesnt have to try them on in the store and they actually have a good return policy. most consignment stores dont have one at all. Their clothes are all really nice, no stains or holes and look like you could buy them in the new stores. They dont have very many baby things like bouncers, or high chairs for my nephew but they are the best store for clothes and shoes! more

eh overpriced on clothes outerwear is nice though 9/10/2010

I am not a huge fan of this location I used to shop at the location in Round Lake Beach and while they had the same great selection the prices were half what they are here this made me biased I do occasionally buy things here but I find that I can find things on the clearance rack at gymboree for about the same price I pay here so I rarely shop here for outfits. However they have a great coat & shoe selection and whenever I am looking for these this is my first stop Elefanten for $8 can't beat that. As for selling here no thank you I was extremely annoyed as I came with formal dresses and coats on hangers fresh from the dry cleaners and they refused to look at them unless they were in a box I mean come on give me a break I get that they don't want people to bring in wrinkled bags filled with clothes but I was not about to put formal gowns & in a box thats ridiculous then they offered me a ridiculous price I went to New To You Kids down the block and they offered me more than double a more

Great store! I tell of my friends! 5/12/2010

I have been shopping at this store for about 3 years. This is the only clothing store I can get my boys to shop at! They actually LIKE shopping here! They have a better selection of big boys sizes (size 12 and 16) than any other consignment store Ive been to. Their clothes are wonderfully priced and always in perfect condition! Sure, nike shirts cost more there than walmart shirts, but why wouldnt they? Nike is a better brand and nike costs more brand new in the store than walmart clothes do. It makes sense to me.\r \r I sell my items here too. I dont think people understand how it works. When you bring in clothes, the store is paying you for them. Once upon a child is YOUR CUSTOMER. So, just like selling on ebay, a rummage, or craigslist, you need to show clothes to them in a way that they will want to buy them. All you do is look at your items, check and make sure there arent any stains or holes in the knees, wash them, put them into a laundry basket, and bring it in on a day that they more

I love this store! 3/5/2009

Ive been shopping at this store for a few years now and I LOVE it! The prices are reasonable and the staff are always polite and personable. I've bought several Gymboree outfits there (some with the tags still on!) for 25-50% of what Gymboree sells it for! People always compliment me on my kids clothes, I tell them that I got them from Once Upon a Child! A lot of times too they have their 50% off or $1 sale and i can usually get a great deal on clothes there. During their $1 sale I load up a cart and donate it to my church's yearly warm clothes drive.\r \r \r \r I've only sold my items there twice, both were positive experiences. Once I sold two rubbermaid containers full of clothes. I dropped the containers off, then went shopping nearby. I came back later in the day and got a check. It was pretty easy. The second time I sold loaded up my husbands truck and sold them a box of toys, all of our baby stuff, (high chair, 2 bouncers, 2 swings, an exersaucer, and a crib) My husband and I shopp more
