On Call Medical Svc

waited 20 mins to get in, had to sit next to people dying and kids screaming. Finally get in and It must have been my lucky day, I got to be seen by the biggest douchebag going. Jeffrey S. Shelby. Barely looked at me and says, well I probably can't do anything about this. (I had a sliver in my foot which was painful.) So he starts squeezing my foot, and I said look I did that already and it hurts so stop. He says I'll have the other doctor come in he has more expierence with things like this. What the hell does that even mean? Sat there waiting for 20mins just to put my shoes back on and leave anyway. What a waste of time not to mention i still had to fulfill my $20 co-pay. If you have to go here....go somewhere else. more

I know that there are other doctors who are fantastic at this on call because I was recommended ther by a friend, but I got Dr. Shelby (who seems new to the practice) and have never been so upset by a doctor in my life. Not only did he talk condescendingly to me, interrupting me three times by saying, ""I know enough about that,"" but he assured me that he knows all about me ""after 25 years of seeing the same things.""\r I spent literally five minutes with him, it wasn't like I was rambling, but he wouldn't let me talk. I was so frustrated I cried on the way home. He ended up telling me that my sudden vertigo and shortness of breath was anxiety (which it isn't- I'm not anxious), and that I should get a hobby. My roomate came in to give him some of the bloodwork I had done a few weeks ago, and he asked me if we were sexually intimate randomly (and we are both girls, so it wasn't about pregnancy), and then told her how I wouldn't get so short of breath if I excercised. I am also not overweight. His complete lack of concern for my situation and inability to let me talk without cutting me off- ""I have hobbies, I write, I do dance-"" I told him, and he said, ""well, dance counts, but you need more hobbies and a counselor. You have anxiety, and I don't like to medicate for anxiety, so get yourself a counselor."" I told him my family history and asked to be tested for a genetic disorder, and he said it isn't necessary because he knows I have anxiety.\r The last full minute was Dr. Shelby telling my roommate a list of different hobbies I should try, naming ""skiing"" and ""hang gliding"" among them. I wish I were kidding but I'm not. I thought he'd lost his mind. If I had talked to a patient like that at MY work, I'd have lost my job.\r At least the nurse and secretary were friendly! Sorry for the long post, the place is nice but Dr. Shelby is not! more
