Have attended several events at Old Spencer Mill over several years: festivals, youth camps, etc. People are always enjoying themselves. Tim & Trish have gone out of their way to be hospitable, generous & entertain guests. Food was delicious Southern home cooking. Great music & entertainment as well as educational activities. I just wanted to state that my wife & I had THE BEST wedding at Old Spencer Mill when we were married & have attended quite a few other functions such as private parties & other weddings there in the past. It was exactly what we asked for & will never forget it. The food was fantastic, the creekside setting was beautiful & didn't have one complaint. We've always recommended this hidden jewel on the backroads of Middle Tennessee to others looking for a special place to create their own special day. Not once have I ever seen the type of rude behavior described here by a couple of disgruntled folks from the owners who ALWAYS go the extra mile to bend over backwards for their guests. Just remember: You can't always make everyone happy & can never satisfy some folks. Beware of spoiled Bridezillas & spin doctors with ulterior motives. Sometimes the problem can be found by looking in the mirror. WE LOVE OLD SPENCER MILL & THE RICH HISTORY OF THE PLACE!!! We'd recommend it to anyone & do! more

I would like to share my experience at Old Spencer Mill where I recently attended an event and in the past have attended many events. The food was wonderful and the event was enjoyed tremendously by my entire party. We had a great time and would advise anyone looking for a successful event to call Trish and Tim. I cant imagine anyone giving a negative review. more

I have been to several events at Old Spencer Mill dating back to 1993. I have always been treated in a welcoming manner and feel at home there. The events are always successful and everyone enjoys themselves. You find yourself wanting to hang out there and not wanting to leave!! I consider Trish and Tim as friends and they are always more than willing to go out of their way to accommodate their guests. Don't be fooled by negative reviews! Old Spencer Mill is a wonderful venue in a beautiful scenic location. I highly recommend it! more

Couldn't have asked for a better place to get married! The food was excellent. Best chicken I have ever had. The staff was super sweet and friendly and Trish knew exactly what I had in mind for my special day. She was nothing but kind to me and my family and guests. They can do anything from a small, intimate gathering to a big bash. I love that I had the options. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves a rustic, scenic place. Right by the creek! The peacocks are beautiful and add so much character! Definitely a one of a kind place. Kudos to Old Spencer Mill!!! more

Our wedding and recption was handled by Trish, the Owner) in an expert and professional manner.\r \r Everything went as planned because of her. We only had 4 hours that is all we could afford, and at others rates we could not have even afforded 1 hr. \r \r The food was the best I have had and the Location is as beutiful as can be. we could do an inside wedding or an outside wedding or both if it had rained, but thank goodness it did not.\r \r WOW, WOW, WOW. I am so pleased to have found this place for my wedding. I will have wonderful memories from there forever.\r \r more

The only thing I can say about this place is that I am completely perplexed as to how they have been in business for so long. There are so many things to pick apart I don't have the energy to write them all down. Now don't think I am a disgruntled guest because everyone there felt the same way. My biggest problem was the host or planner or whatever she was. . . .Rude, pushy, unaccommodating, the list of crappy adjectives goes on. The food was something you get pre-made at the grocery store. It seemed like all appetizers were packaged. I am not sure they made anything. Even the vegetables looked like the came from a bag. They did not even take the time to cut off the bad ends of the celery stalks. It is a shame this place is not run better because the setting outside is beautiful. Trees everywhere, a little creek running through the back, and other natural beauties. Get rid of cranky host tighten up the food and decor and this place could be a decent wedding venue. more
