Update- Full House! 5/1/2009

Just ask the folks who have to wait and take a number to get a table at Old South how good the food is here. If you ate BBQ yesterday, try a grilled chili slaw dog. You will be thankful for the tip. Life is short. A bit of time spent waiting for a good meal is time well spent. more

It's ALL good 5/7/2007

I own a local recording studio. Every group of musicians that I've ever taken to Old South enjoyed their meals and always request that we go back. We also enjoy Old South barbecue at our Christmas parties. I serve the best to my guest. The fresh brewed sweet tea would be nice in a clear glass. more

Or perhaps I am just biased toward good BBQ. As a Smyrna native, I have been dining at Old South for over 30 years and have never once had bad food or service, EVER! Their prices are no higher than any other BBQ joint any where in Atlanta. The food has always been hot, fresh and tasty. So what if the building is old? I go there for the food. more

So so BBQ 4/2/2006

Old South Barbecue is nothing to rave about. The pork was a little dry for my taste, the brunswick stew a little runny and the hush puppies a little over cooked. The prices are not so cheap that they compensate for the lackluster food. The building itself is pretty old and not the cleanest. Definitely take out if you eat here. more
