Old Cowtown is not only a fun place to visit for people of all ages, but it is also very educational. This living museum is a hands on way for people to experience what it was really like in the 1800’s from shootouts and buggy rides, to no air conditioning and a black smith’s shop, it’s all authentic. more

Mooo- It's Cowtown 8/6/2005

I still remember hanging out with a friend in cowtown for several hours. I thought it was a lot of fun. We liked going to all of the different buildings and hearing stories that people would tell us. For a family the price can be a bit costly but I thought it was worth the price when I went. I've known a lot of school groups who take the children there and they enjoy it. Check it out and see what you think. more

Wichita's very own Old Cowtown Museum offers visitors a unique oppurtunity to step into life in the 1800's. Old Cowtown is the set for countless western movies -- appealing for the old style houses and the villagers that come out everyday dressed in 1800's apparel. There is truly nothing else like it . Old Cowtown is an a living history museum that interprets the history of Wichita and Sedgwick County, and life on the southern plains from 1865-1880. If you are just visiting Wichita, this would be a great activity for anyone to experience a good ol' fashion taste of the midwest. more
