Starting your Saturday at OCB 12/2/2006

One of the guys at our church instigated meeting for breakfast at Old Country Buffet. I have been to OCB numerous times but never for breakfast. We got there almost right at 8:00, when they open, and so they didn't have a LOT of people crowding in. Big plus. If you've been there for lunch or dinner, you know they have variety. I didn't actually make it over to the lines where the salads are. But I did see some cereal over there when I glanced. But I didn't pay $8.39 to eat cereal. They had biscuits and gravy, waffles, pancakes, donuts, eggs (scrambled, over easy, and omelets to order), ham, bacon, sausage links just to name a few. They also had other items that you don't always think of for breakfast (fried chicken, chicken fried steak). The omelets to order were over in the desserts area. There is no sign pointing that out though. Not sure how one is supposed to discover this since most people don't have "dessert" with their breakfast. But if you do want dessert after your breakfast, don't despair, their dessert area is stocked and running (including the ice cream and yogurt machines). Just like lunch and dinner, if you leave OCB hungry, you weren't trying. Check out their web site for a location near you and their menu. http://www.buffet.com/ more

A family hit... 10/20/2006

This is a place that our whole family enjoys. I think the Bee is there on Monday's and Thursday's. There was a (thankfully) brief time when those were the two days we could not go because our oldest daughter was terrified of the OCBee (all large costumed characters actually). But she has since gotten over that fear and hugs the Bee anytime we see it there. We love it because we can feed the whole family without worrying about what to order or portion sizes. We just have to convince our daughters that they need to eat their meal BEFORE they get ice cream. more

OLD COUNTRY BUFFET...if you leave here hungy it's your own fault! 11/13/2005

OLD COUNTRY is an old favorite with everyone in my house. Offering everything from succulent roast beef, pork cutlets, fish, spaghetti, cold salads and mouth watering desserts, this is one of those place where your eyes are bigger than your stomach when it comes to eating! Conveniently located in CORALRIDGE MALL adjacent to the north entrance by OLD NAVY, this is one easy place to get in and out of in record time and still leave feeling great! And another thing that feels great after leaving this restaurant...your wallet! Though OLD COUNTRY is not cheap by any means, it isn't so expensive that it breaks the budget going there to enjoy a nice family meal! My advise to you would be to stop in this place when you go holiday shopping...it is a great change from fast food and a lot more comfortable dining than say a huge courtyard full of noisy, crazed shoppers.....give it a try, you won't be sorry! more
