TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! DIRTY SALON!! 8/19/2008

I guess Ochoa doesn't really care about first-time customers, first impressions, or repeat business. As a first time customer there the other day, I was immediately whisked to the hair-washing station (which, by the way, was dirty and full of other clients hair!) before even meeting the person who would be styling my hair! I had to request to meet her first so that she could see my hair in its natural state before cutting it. I mean really - what kind of professional salon would ever let a stylist cut a first-time clients hair without seeing it dry first!?!?! I told her that I wanted to look at some pictures with her to discuss what would work best for me and she said, ""Well, I don't think we'll have time for that because I have another appointment in a half hour."" WHAT?!?! So they book appointments on the half hour. Fine...for repeat clients who get the same cut time after time. I told her what I wanted and she flat out wouldn't do it! She said that my hair wouldn't do what I wanted it to do. Listen, I've been with my hair for nearly 40 years, I know what it can and cannot do! But what I wanted would have taken her a good 40 minutes to do - and she clearly wanted me out of there. What ever happened to the word ""service""??? For $38 I expected to at least be treated like I was a welcome guest! Instead, I was rushed into a cut that, although executed well, is boring, unoriginal, and not at all what I wanted! Coupled with the fact that the salon was not clean, not busy, and that the person who cut my hair looked more like a frumpy soccer-mom than a stylist in a so-called upscalse salon - the $38 price tag was outrageous. I could have gotten the same service at Bucci for $10, or excellent service for $40 at Salon Herdis in Northampton. Pros: None that I can think of. Cons: Expensive, poor service, rushed service, dirty salon, frumpy stylists more

Nice Blow-Out. 3/19/2007

Best thing about this salon is how close it is, located in the village commons. Nice cuts, great products and blow-outs. Not too pricy, but you do have to be careful who cuts your hair as the pricing scale varies anywhere from $20 to $50 depending on the stylist. Big glass windows lets you watch others getting their hair done, but then there's also not much privacy. I have long hair, and my stylist made me STAND UP in the middle of the room to make sure she cut it straight. Made me very uncomfortable....but she did a good job, so----oh well. Pros: great cuts/styles Cons: not very friendly, and pushed the products a LOT! more
