Best

Both rinks are usually in use. They have hot snacks which comes in handy when you come on the ice. Speed skating, ice hockey and a few more going on. Something we all can enjoy.

This rink is where I started to teach my daughter to skate. I have found a lot of good times skating here with friends and family. You can take fig

oakland ice center! 4/9/2006

great place for ice skating. Not as busy as many other rinks, so more room to move around. I just went here recently for broomball, it was a total blast. The group rates are a lot better for oakland ice center than for berkeley iceland, so if your group is thinking about an ice skating/broomball event, definitely consider oakland ice center. They have two rinks as well, but one of them is usually taken for hockey practices/games. And when you're tired of ice skating, there are some arcade games and an ice hockey table. Overall, pretty decent place for skating. more

Skating 12/6/2005

I went here a couple of times with some friends to have some fun. there's not many people so most of the time it's just me and my friends. Prices are pretty decent. A friend of mine fell and hurt his head and the people there were prepared and helped him until the ambulence were there. The workers are pretty reliable. If you dislike skaitng, you can always play at the arcade more

Ice Skating 8/18/2005

The Oakland Ice Center is a big place in Downtown. The cost is cheap and you can even book the rink for a party. Not a lot of people go there so it's nice to just skate. There is some games you can play if you don't want to skate. I think they give lessons too. more

Very Enjoyable. 8/13/2005

The first time I ever went to a ice skating ring was The Oakland Ice Center. When I first entered I knew it was going to be fun. The steps to getting into the ring is fast and everyone is nice there. My family members also enjoy skating in the wonder environment. The prices is also good and there is also arcades to play when you are taking a break from skating. You should visit here if you stop by Oakland. more

Ice skating isn't just for the winter! 8/9/2005

Smack dab in the middle of Oakland, even in the middle of summer, there's a big slab of ice. Seven days a week, you're likely to find kids and adults donning pairs of ice skates, and either whipping around the rink at dizzying speeds, or clinging for dear life to the sides, just trying to catch their balance. You can pay a low flat fee (I think it was under $10/per person for adults), and skate around all afternoon. Or, you can practice or play hockey on their second rink. Lessons are available for those who would like to learn to figure skate, or maybe even just do basic skating without landing on their back sides. The rink is located a block away from the 19th Street BART station, making it very convenient to get to. But, if you prefer to drive, there is parking right across the street. more
