David Matthews&staff of oakdale baptist,I know in my heart are God inspired ministers,and the congregation has been nothing but friendly and concerned about anyone who has a burden or need and seeks to help in any way they can, I can speak this from experence because I have had this body of Christ help me with my struggles and burdens, Infact me and my family are lifted up before the Lord quite often&I have not attended oakdale on a regular basis in a while,But not because of anyone at oakdale! The lord called me to preach years ago, and I have not been faithful to the call because of personal hurt, I have had the opportunity to speak at oakdale many times, I have never had any formal education in religion but have the calling on my life.God is the one qualifies the called not calls the qualified. Also God puts you in a church where his word is preached and where you can get sound teaching to help you to excersise your calling. You have to wait on God to move in his time , not ours! We get our knowledge from God and his ministers. God provides a way for his ministers to get plenty of opportunites to excersise their calling. I cannot say enough about the staff and members of oakdale baptist . Pastor Dave is still to this day, encourage me to be obedient and follow through with the calling put on my life and would do the same for anyone who is called into the ministry and will give them a chance to excercise the calling. Anyone looking for a place to experense God, Try Oakdale Baptist Church! Pros: Great place to worship Cons: Do not know any more

\r Can you beleive EVERYTHING your pastor tells you????? \r \r Pastor's sermons are great. HOWEVER, Members are Not. 2 familys seem to run things around there.\r I have only been once.\r However I know a family that went there for 2 to 3 years and was going to school to become a pastor and was told by the Pastor David Mathews that he could not preach in the church untl he has at least 40 college credits. So he continued doing so working toward these credit and was involved with the music ministry as well as the choir and was youth director for a 6 months and actually built the youth at the church. \r Then out of the blue he decided to make his son in law asso pastor and another member a asso pastor as well and these people DO NOT HAVE ANY SCHOOLING behind them. Since my friend has left the teen group has dropped off to 4 kids.\r This friend of mine was extremly hurt over what they did and his wife left the church. He continued for another 11 weeks to fofill his obligations to the kids and not once did the members ask about his wife or where she was or why she hasn't been comming to church.\r \r Enter at own risk\r on a scale to one to ten the drama is about a 9.\r \r I suggest to visit several churchs in the area before making one your home. If any pastor tells you what he will do for you ...get it in writing.\r \r My friends family are now at another church and he is getting started in the music program again as well as the choir. BUT this scar he recieved from this past church shall never leave.\r \r He wouldn't write you all this because he cares for the Pastor and know's he has a lot on his plate.
