We tried this place hoping for a tasty casual meal. While the decor was lovely and the menu extensive, the food and service stuck out for their inferiority. We ordered three dinner salads; two were barly edible the third was made incorrectly and took nearly 15 minutes to correct. The waitstaff was pleasant but incredibly slow, incorrect with the order, and we were left waiting for our check for 20 minutes. more

Poorly managed 11/28/2005

I have been to several ""Not your Average Joe's"", their food is usually good, and the value is good. However, this particular one has very poor management : not only we (a party of 5) had to wait for over an hour after calling ahead (they do not take reservations). After waiting for an hour and 10 minutes, we were told that they forgot to transcribe us to the new list, and would sit us immediately. Yet, they sat a party of six down at the same table right as the hostess was leading us over. We left before eating to catch a movie, after waiting for an hour and 35 minutes. I recommend going with a full stomach, since the wait is so long, or not going at all. Pros: close to the theatre Cons: poorly managed, too crowded more

Looks great, tastes OK 8/23/2002

Cool atmosphere but the food has never impressed me. I expected the brinck oven pizza to be better and have had salmon that I didn't love. Not a bad experience, but you have to have a taste for less usual dishes. more

awesome service and food 7/25/2002

NJAJ has a varied, interesting menu. All the staff are upbeat and friendly. You always feel like you are treated personally. It is a casual, upbeat, fun place to go! Pros: good value, attentive service, interesting menu more
