Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) has earned national recognition and a distinguished reputation for its comprehensive range of cardiac services. NGMC has been rates Georgia's #1 heart hospital for six consecutive years by HealthGrades?.
Among the new Tower's operating rooms is a special room called the Endovascular Operating Room (EVOR), which is designed to allow our vascular surgeons to perform procedures that may start out as a catheterization, only to later turn into a real surgery... all in the same room, with the same physician and the same surgical team.
The Stribling Heart Clinic houses a complete range of diagnostic cardiac and vascular services - including vascular lab, cardiology lab with EKG, echo and stress testing and nuclear medicine - in one central location resulting in easy accessibility for both patients and physicians.
The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory consists of four state-of-the-art procedure rooms that house the most advanced technology including bi-plane flat panel imaging, which allows for more images with less contrast dye usage, and magnetic catheterization. Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) is the first hospital in Georgia, and still one of only a handful of programs in the Southeast, with magnetic catheterization technology, a catheter navigation system designed to assist physicians performing interventional procedures with more precision and control, especially in difficult to reach areas of the heart.
Electrophysiology is the cardiology specialty that diagnoses and treats heart arrhythmias, a disturbance of the heart's normal rhythm that may be serious and even life threatening. At Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC), cardiology specialists called electrophysiologists use the most advanced technology to detect, diagnose and treat arrhythmias.
Northeast Georgia Medical Center offers Heart Failure Support Services to both inpatients and outpatients with Heart Failure (HF), formerly called congestive heart failure. Our goal is to provide patients, as well as their family members/caregivers, with the education they need to understand the HF disease process, and then how to best manage their condition at home.
Certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR), the Cardiac Rehabilitation (also known as cardiac rehab) program at Northeast Georgia Medical Center uses education, exercise and emotional support to support a patient after a cardiac event to the best possible recovery.
