North Township, located in Lake County, Indiana, is a government agency to provide Township Assistance to the less fortunate. Serving the East Chicago, Hammond, Highland, Munster and Whiting communities, we feature an extensive application process to assist those in need. We offer assistance in food, shelter, clothing, medical and more. We also offer special services that include Emergency Victim Relief and a job search and employment workfare.
The North Township Trustee also provides a free bus service, Dial-a-Ride, to all resident?s living within the boundaries of the Township. We also own and operate Oak Hill Cemetery in Hammond, Indiana and maintain the Hess Cemetery located in Hammond, Indiana.
North Township, the second largest township in the state, also owns and operates Wicker Memorial Park. Dedicated by President Calvin Coolidge on June 14, 1927 to the ?doughboys? of World War 1, Wicker Memorial Park has become one of the most utilized parks in the Region.
