North Shore Ace Hardware

I have been going there for years. I can't say enough good things about them. Always eager to help with whatever the problem and very knowledgeabe. I moved to the Bay Area about 11 years ago, but when I go back they are always friendly and helpful. Not sure why the woman had a bad experience, maybe it was her attitude in the middle of a snow storm??? more

I am a local here and have been shopping at this Ace for some time now. I do believe i know what lady you are talking about and i would like to share my customer service experience. Unknowingly i had been over charged a few dollars and i was about to drive away when she came running out to catch me before i left. I did not have time and thanked her for attempting to correct it. Well, a few days later i had returned to do a little more shopping. When i went to checkout she remembered me and she had saved the receipt and credited my card back the difference. I thought this was the best customer service experience i had ever had! You can not get that kind of service anywhere else. Every time i am in there she is talking with people and helping them find things in the store. The entire staff happens to be very informative and helpful. I highly recommend anyone else to shop there and check out the large selection of merchandise. You will not be disappointed. I say it is the best little hardware store in town and beats any other including the larger retailers. I will always return back to this Ace because of the great customer service they always provide. So check it out for yourself. You will not be disapointed. more

Snowing in Tahoe on thanksgiving weekend 2010, needed a new snow shovel. Went down the street to local Ace Store. Woman in store had long hair, glasses, 50ties at counter in store. The most rude, unhelpful and probably sour person I have come across in a long time. We asked her a few simple questions about a snow shovel and she looked and answered us as though we were stupid, tho our family live there and we are no strangers local weather or snow. She shrugged her shoulders, gave us short answer, directed us with a little shake and scooted us toward the snow shovels but looking straight ahead and not at us and her head was shaking with a little attitude. I started to laugh because I was uncomfortable and wondered why she was using this rude attitude. My husband said thank you and noticed he was leaving. I followed but stayed long enough to say to the woman that she was extremely rude and she more or less shouted at me. I was so shocked! When i got outside my husband said OMG what is her problem. Anyway, we took our business someplace else and we are our Tahoe family will not be going back there again. Some of the neighbors said that she is not a customer service person. She is not good for their business. more
