In the spirit of the Northwest, Next Adventure reflects the green movement in Portland by offering a wide variety of both new and used yet usable outdoor gear. Not much of a real roughing-it type girl, I have found myself in this place many times putting together gear for my outdoorsy daughter. From used self-inflating mats to well-priced collapsing water bottles and, in the winter, a ton of water repellent fleece wear, this store is one-stop shopping. True to Nortwest integrity, the store also stands by its ads. Once I was there I found a collection funky "only your aunt would give this to you" fleece hats that had been originally marked at 16 bucks a piece. They were tumbled in with $3 hats. I offered to pay full price, the manager made it clear that it was store policy to honor their signs. Most stores today rudely tell you "I'm sorry, but the price is 16" but not this crew! Not only are the prices good...but the service is befitting a top-quality Michigan Avenue shop.
