Newell House Museum

My family has had several family reunions here over the years, and I held my wedding here in October. The grounds are beautiful, overlooking Champoeg State Park. The curators, Judy and Dennis are laid back and extremely helpful. The wedding vendors that work with the Newell House are fantastic. We met with them once, all at one time at the house. After that is was all emails. The wedding ran very smoothly and extremely stress free. More than a bride could hope for. It made our wedding day fantastic! As for the location out of town, we simply put all our guests on a bus and no worries for anyone drinking and driving. I highly recommend this place if you want a small, intimate, and stress free wedding. Pros: Great Staff and Vendors Cons: A bit out of the metro area, but worth it more

Beautiful setting for a small wedding! Great views, and perfect location for photos. The professional and family-oriented hosts really understand how to put together a special event. Since there was a threat of rain, it was great to have the backup option of the screened-in porch/room where everyone was comfortable. I attended a friend's wedding here in October and although there was a threat of rain it never happened the entire time we were there. This is not only a historical location but a beautiful intimate location for a small wedding or family gathering. You are taken back in time with the museum and all of it's wonderful artifacts. It was really a perfect event. Pros: Very charming more

We have had many parties and Weddings in the last couple of years at this site. The site is gorgeous, huge trees, and a manicured lawn. Our guests loved the relaxed feel of the site. Judy and Dennis are great to work with. Would highly recommend this site to anyone. Pros: Wonderful place for Weddings or Any events Cons: Out side of the Portland metro more
