I graduated from Nevada State so I know it's strengths and weaknesses.
Strengths: The classes were very small. The professors were very accessible. This place is cheap. If your thinking about attending U of Phoenix, DeVry, I.T.T. you will save a ton by going to NSC. It's only $97.50 per credit. UNLV is around $142.50. I had some excellent professors that went to Yale and UC Berkley. There was only one dud, Grace Thompson. She was terrible.
Weaknesses: If your looking for a traditional college experience (dorm life, greek life, sports) your not going to find it here (at least yet). They have a few clubs but not too many. So even though the college is small, you may feel disconnected from your classmates. Also, the Career Center is non-existent. This part was extremely frustrating to me. There was no on-campus interviews for internships etc like UNLV. NSC should have some connections with local businesses in Henderson. I had a hard time making connections with local businesses. This doesn't mean that you will be a janitor after you graduate. It does mean that you will have to work harder than a UNLV graduate to find work. I finally did get interviews for Wells Fargo (manager trainee) and Wynn (marketing) and a school. This took about a year though!
Pros: Cheap, Regionally Accredited, Small Classes
Cons: Not as many Majors to chose from, Non-Existent Career Center
