People come from all over the US to visit Nell Hills. Seriously. In fact, last year a woman in Kansas City bought a $1 million home in Atchison just so that she and her friends would have some place to stay when they came to town for their shopping trips at Nell Hills. It's a bit extravagant! I registered at Nell Hills for my wedding and received everything on my registry. People in our town just love shopping there. The owner has a gift of remembering every customer's name. She has made the top 10 business women list year after year. She's written books. She's even been in Forbes magazine! But even after all that there is just a magical air about her that attracts peopel to talk to her. When you have a conversation with her she makes you feel like the most important person on earth. The store is great. The prices can be steep, but it's well worth the time to visit. more

Very exciting place to visit it always changing. Things are defiantly packed in there sometimes a bit to pack with all the people coming and going. Although thing are sometimes jammed in there it’s always a treat to find the many hidden treasures. I myself try not to visit too often as it to hard not to get lost in the place and spend way to much money. more

This is the most exciting and unique decorating store you will ever visit. Each room is full of beautiful items. The items are packed into each room and it is a treat to spy each treasure. It is not so packed that it is uncomfortable, you just must take your time. In addition to wonderful pieces of tables, chairs, wall hangings, table accents, Mary Carol shows you how to display them in your home. More often than not, Mary is there herself and welcomes the opportunity to visit with you. The store changes dramatically with each season - and Christmas is the best. Don't be surprised to see Christmas trees hanging from the ceiling or in the Spring, every each of floor covered in pebbles!! Items are amazingly affordable!!! more

This is the most spectacular store. It has home furnishings, antiques and furniture. The store is never the same when you visit. The decor changes constantly. This is the kind of store you go into and want to go home and redecorate. Everything is very reasonably priced which is good because you will want to spend a lot. Well worth the drive to Atchison. more
