Wonderful and caring staff 11/12/2009

I've had great experiences here in good times and bad with my cats over the years. When my poor old cat was terminal, the team was very caring and helpful. A few years later, they were just as great when I got my new little kitties fixed and vaccinated. Loving, patient and kind throughout. Pros: So nice to my kitties! more

Best Vet in Chicago 12/19/2006

I'm baffled by the one reviewer who had a negative experience with Near North. When my dog was dying of cancer around the holidays, Dr Boin offered to come to my home to put him to sleep on Christmas Day if need be. This was a huge relief for me - not to have to worry that the time would come that day and he would have to suffer until the office opened the following day. This kind of care from a veterinarian is unprecedented. The entire staff is phenomenal, and the care my dogs have received from the beginning to the very end of their lives has been exceptional. I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else. more

Great Staff and Service! 10/8/2006

My dog has had two emergency incidents within the last month and they have taken her right away. They are understanding and genuine. The staff is very helpful and caters to your needs. Dr. Lindsay is great. Your animal's care and wellbeing is definitely number 1 for them. They are very thorough in examinations and explanations. more

my experience 7/30/2006

My 1 year old beagle scratched (out of a severe allerge reaction) her neck overnight, and not only she's bleeding, her neck was swollen to a baseball size, and we were realy shocked to see it. First thing in the morning, I called this hospital where I used to go for vaccination and everything, for a semi-emergency visit. The guy who answered my call was so rude, and didn't want to take care of the situation. If you are going to be a vet, you should at least have a little bit of sympathy to your patient's semi-emergency situation. He just said everything is booked, and cannot do anything. I said it is a semi-emergency situation, and he replied emergency means 'life-turning situation'. Oh, Please! Everyone knows that! Can't the vet take a look at the dog for 5 minutes for a quick first-aid treatment?? His 5 minutes is more important than a bleeding dog?? I went to another hospital right next to this one, and they squeezed us in to take care of the situation. Now my dog is doing much better. Please decide yourself where to bring your dog. I know where I am going from now on!! Pros: General service was OK. Cons: Please read my review. more

Most caring vets in the city! 6/26/2006

Drs. Boin and Seilheimer are amazing - they make you feel like your pet is their favorite patient. I went through a lot with my cat, Mona, who ultimately ended up passing away a few weeks ago. They did everything they could to treat her, and even checked up on ME to make sure I was handling it well! Their office staff and technicians are amazing as well...you won't find this kind of compassion at any other vet in the city. more

Dr. Boin is the best! 5/16/2006

He is calm, very intelligent and is honest with you regarding any medical attention your pet may need. He'll let you know what he can do and if you ask if this is the best choice for your pet, he will tell you. He makes you feel comfortable and trusting. more

G- Mo Gets declawed!! 10/25/2005

My Cat Geronimo was in need of being declawed..we had tried everything and I was concernced as the cat was 3 - 4years old. Dr Boin, and the staff totally took care of G-Mo, and my husband and I!! It's painful to watch any animal be in pain and you guys are the most gracious and loving of people.. The cat was his usual frisky self in 10 days and you were always all available with any questions being answered and follow up care..so THANK YOU..If Only doctors and nurses at Human Hospitals were as gracious and Loving as You I wonder how quick people would recover!! I now adpoted a little terrier and will be taking Bella to our Vet of choice..Thank you Dr Boin and your staff for all you provide for our pets and for US..I would take my animals no where Else!! Pros: Available, Great Follow up, Immediate Action more
