for the longest time, i considered Neannie's my secret cafe. i could get a table easily, often being one of the few loyal customers for an early lunch. but during last year, the place took off: fraternity and sorority students from the east coast, professors, local business people, the place was jumping. to my surprise, shortly after that phase, the place was sold to new owners. we were guaranteed that everything would stay the same. but, alas, this was not true. since changing owners, the soup is a bit too salty, the amaaaazing broccoli salad is now too salty and the portions have shrunk. the desserts are now cut smaller and even the sandwiches tend to be missing something. perhaps the new owners are watching the pennies. regardless, we should keep our fingers crossed that they figure out the magic the previous owner had because she was a fantastic cook and this place was the bomb.
