Come spend a day with aviation history 8/22/2005

The US Air Force Museum is so easy to get to. You can go down Harshman Rd and take the exit right into the Air Force Museum. It is the oldest and largest Air Force Museum in the world. They do have an IMAX theater as well and admission to the museum is free. Giant-scale models of some of history’s greatest aircraft will land on the runway behind the National Museum of the United States Air Force on Sept. 2-4. They have WW II, Balloon Gondola's, Training Aircraft, Bomber Aircraft, Missles, Helipcoptors, Rocket Engines, Space Vehicles and so much more. YOu can spend a day walking thru aviation history there. more

Amazing aviation museum 8/18/2005

I am an airplane lover, and I love this museum! I could literally spend days inside this museum and probably not see and read everything on display. They have an amazing collection of aircraft and memorabilia from the beginning of flight to the modern era. Even people who aren’t aviation buffs could probably get at least a couple hours of enjoyment from this museum. Admission is free. more

Best museum in Dayton 8/16/2005

This is the place to bring all visitors to the Dayton area. I believe they get over two million visitors a year! With the third hangar that was built a couple years ago, this place can easily fill an entire day for people who are remotely into aviation history. There are hundreds of displays and aircraft, and it is set up very nicely so you start with the Wright Brothers and end in more modern aircraft. This museum is very handicap accessible. In addition to the displays, there is a gift shop, a snack bar, an IMAX theater, and the National Aviation Hall of Fame, which is especially nice for children, as it has more hands-on activities. more
