Nana's House

My son started in the infant care program just a few months ago. This is the first time I had him in a group program, I have had him in private day care in the past and that did not work out, the provider took more time off than I could handle. The center looks worn down but what normal wear and tear. The rooms are clean, staff are professional and I really have no concerns regarding his care. The Director is strict but that is not a bad thing. The center is open every day and even some holidays. They do not close due to the snow and I can depend on them in that situation. I checked other centers in the Sullivan/Orange County area and nanas house did stack up better. Pros: Being open, professional care, clean environment Cons: Price more

At first glance this place seems like it is top notch and most likely the best place for your child to be care for while you are at work. However, it is a horrible facility where there is extreme negligence on the behalf of the staff and to which, I have heard many horrible things such as cover ups about accidents that children have had that could've been avoided to my own experiences where my child was constantly hurt by another child and nothing was ever done about it despite my bringing it up several times. Furthermore, I have good cause to know that some of the staff like to partake in illegal substance which, forces me to wonder whether or not they provide testing to those that watch young, innocent, children. This facility could be a great place considering it's location and the building itself but so long as most of the staff remains, the place will always remain unsuitable for my child and should be for yours as well. I was very unhappy with the facility, the grounds and layout are beautiful. The staff and director are what was so disappointing. My son came home with dried up snot on his face, day after day. For the first two weeks the teachers in the 18m and younger room thought my son's name was nathan, when it's noah! I witnessed a teacher being very nasty to a 2yr old. I have spoken to other mom's and I'm getting back similar opinions on the facility. I would not recommend this facility at this time, if perhaps in the future a new director and replacement of certain teachers occured, I may reconsider! Pros: near my home, it's a large facility!
