Excellent, honest, fresh Italian fare paired with great wine 3/17/2009

I have been a regular at this fantastic, cozy little spot for years. The incredible homestyle Italian food, excellent wine, friendly owners and staff, and warm atmosphere keep me coming back. Brunch is fantastic. Ideal weeknight happy-hour supper: a flavorful toasted panino stuffed with chorizo or sopressata & served with panzanella ($8.5) and a two-for-one vino or a Kwak or Moretti beer. Pastas are exquisite and overflowing with fresh ingredients. Wine list is thoughtful and selective, with several great options by the glass. Rotating roster of artists display their works on the walls. It's just far enough from Bedford & Grand that the insufferable cretins who plague W'burg haven't found it -- just real people who love a great enoteca experience. more

Great Little Wine Bar 5/31/2006

Great little wine bar just a few short blocks from Bedford Ave. The space is not too large/not too small-which adds to the already great ambiance. The owners are friendly and Peter is very knowledgable about the available wines. Desserts are always homemade and fresh-be sure to try the bread pudding. I've been to N6 a few times and have never been dissapointed. Highly recommend. more

  • In Short
Nicole Bamonte, who owns n.6 with her husband, has the restaurant business in her blood; her family has been serving up red sauce in Williamsburg for over a hundred years over at Bamonte's on Withers Street. The restaurant's locale is equally historical: Old timers still wander in looking for Deuca's bakery and youngsters will be charmed by the original tile floor and eclectic decor. In terms of food, the unpretentious atmosphere matches the light fare. Panini, pasta and jazzed up cutlets are meant to be enjoyed with reasonably priced wines from across the globe.
