Today I called a local TV repair place to ask about issues I've been having with my Sony Wega rear projection TV. Bright, white graphics cause the TV to hiccup and black out. I have to say that the guy who answered the phone provided me the best customer service I've ever received. The reasons are such:
I didn't have to deal with an automated voice response unit, a secretary or some numbskull answering the phone that had to transfer me.
He immediately answered and was the guy I needed to talk to.
He was on the phone with me for about 15 minutes talking to me about my issues and the possible problems I could be facing.
He was immediately aware of my model and my TV and was obviously an experienced technician and one who know how to talk to customers.
He was forthright and honest about whether I should consider repair or to simply buy a new television.
He recommended 3 other vendors/supply houses to me that could provide parts at a better rate than his shop could.
He took the time to explain to me issues he's seen with my TV, ways I could fix it myself, and a brief, non-technical explanation of how my set works.
He spoke excellent English, never talked down to me, and was courteous and polite the entire phone call.
He ended the call saying he was happy to help and to call him back if I had any other questions or if there was anything else I go to help him.
He also quickly provided me a list of other services his company could provide me.
I honestly got chills thinking about how well the call went and what a pleasure it was to easily talk to a real human being and get real, honest answers. As a former customer service representative and a person who deals with businesses like these all the time I highly recommend this business. They've got it right and have their customer service attitude established correctly. Call this company first if you have any electronics repair needs.
