Interesting 8/20/2005

This museum is housed in an old prison. Its interesting, but I wouldn't reccomend taking young children to it. All of the exibits require a lot of reading and the younger children tend to get bored with the whole experience after just a few minutes. Like I said though, it is interesting. You can go inside the cells, laundry room, dining hall, etc. The gift shop is small, but they carry some neat things that were made by prisoners. more

  • Caon City in southern Colorado is the home of the Museum of Colorado Prisons, a showcase of the atmosphere and exhibits of days, staff and inmates gone by. A visit to the the Royal Gorge Region isnt complete without stopping and doing time in this historical cell house that was the original Womens Correctional Facility constructed in 1935. We have the history of ever changing prison system in Colorado from the territorial days of the 1870's through current times.
