Best burger in the state of Illinois 1/9/2007

I've had many burgers all over and even places like the famous "port of call" in New Orleans. NONE of them have anything on Murphy’s! The Bacon Cheeseburger with grilled onions and mushrooms is fantastic. Add in their unique French Fries and you had about the best lunch money can buy. The atmosphere is very cool, very college but tending toward the older grad student type of crowd. i go there at least once every few weeks! more

Murphy’s Pub 4/14/2006

Murphy’s Pub is a great place to eat and drink with your friends. Wednesday night is logo night where you can get a glass logo with a beer for about $4-$5. Refills are usually $2. Their Irish Nachos are huge waffle fries with cheese, bacon, tomatoes, and lots and lots of jalapeno peppers. Awesome place to go with friends to hang out and enjoy yourself. more

Great!! 4/11/2006

Murphy's is so fantastic. Let's start with lunch - they have phenomenal burgers at great prices. The fries can't be beat. Later on come for drinks and friends. It's very accommodating to large groups since they have tables that can fit lots of people. There's a basement area with pool tables and darts (but it's pretty small). The crowd here is casual and friendly. The bartenders and owners are super friendly. They always have some sort of drink special going that you just can't refuse. They have good beers here too, like Killians and Guiness. more

I miss the place 9/22/2005

I recently moved away from Champaign, and Murphy's is definitely the only place that I miss. Stay away if you are not into the college scene. They have a nice selection of beer on tap and they usually have good drink specials too. The food is pretty typical pub fare, but it's cheap and tasty. The crowd here is usually friendly, and the large tables are great if you come with a big group. I have many fond memories of this place. more
