The Munson Community Healthcare Center on Munson Avenue is housed in the former Traverse City Osteopathic Hospital building. The building has undergone many cosmetic changes since the old hospital closed down and the changes have all been for the better.
This building offers a variety of medical services. There is an Urgent Care center in the front (with a pharmacy located right next to it), there is a complete radiology department (for standard x-rays, mammograms, bone density tests, etc), there is a pain clinic, full service laboratory (for blood draws and other lab tests), an office for nutritional and dietary counseling, a medical library, hospice care and so much more.
One thing I like about MCHC is that it avoids having to go to the hospital for many routine tests. The hospital tends to be crowded and busy and hectic etc. The pace at MCHC, because it is not a hospital, just feels less hectic to me.
With so many medical services in located under one roof, this is definitely a great resource in Traverse City.
