Muffler Man

I would like to thank Muffler Man crew for there generosity, and helpfulness. I don't even own a vehicle, currentlly I take the city bus across the street from there shop. It was snowing really hard one day last month, blizzard conditions and the owner yelled across the street and said "" you come over here its too cold out here and wait inside my office, I will let you know when I see the bus coming, there is the restroom, hot coffee, snacks in the cabinet if your hungry please feel free too help yourself."" If this is the treatment you receive from them with no car to service,I would imagine if I had a car I'd possibly be spoiled! Steve & Crew were a big help and done the repairs needed at a cost saving price.\r I had had some recent transmission work done and the shop where I had this work done had damaged the cross over pipe and refused to repair it.\r They told me it was because it was old and rusty that they did not intend to fix it.\r Steve and his crew repaired it and got back to the way it should be.. They did not charge an arm and a leg for what was needed to be done and told me it is an old auto and the pipes are rusty but most likely not more than 4 or 5 yrs old and should last for some time. Very up front and very good to work with not a rip off like the Transmission shop I went to.Go there if you need it done right. Thank you Steve. Joel Manley more

Muffler Man(Steve+Rebecca) has an office that is professional but makes you feel very comfortable immediately. You know he is going to take care of your problem. I'm an 82 year old lady who drove in with no power steering and drove out using my finger to turn. I still don't know how he did it or could believe how reasonable my bill was. I will forever be grateful to him & his attractive & friendly wife. I highly recommend Steve & his family of mechanics . They truly enjoy their work which is why I think they are so talented. GREAT JOB STEVE!! I came to Muffler Man to get my 1965 mustang tail pipes put on. Steve went why above and changed the mufflers and pipes around. To fit alot better. He had trouble with his welder, So he fixed his welder first so he could have nice welds on the pipes. Steve and Rebecca are very nice people. more

November crisis, muffler pipe came apart. On a Saturday morning they got me in and out in 20 minutes! VERY reasonable charge too! If you need muffler work, Steve & crew are the folks to see. more

Had to bring my car back to MM because the exhaust system they had installed 2 months earlier was falling apart. They repaired it free of charge. That's not the problem. The problem was when the owner decided to share with me a story of another customer with the same problem. Apparently, the customer accused MM of not fixing his car correctly, and demanded that they replace the entire exhaust system. Steve said....And I quote.....""I could see if it was a n1gger trying to rip me off, but this guy was white!"" I'm always amazed by the idiotic things that spill from people's tiny brains, but this guy was a real piece of work. I won't be returning. more

I came in one cold morning with an exhaust leak on my 1994 Jeep Wrangler .The doors havent even opened when the owner came out asked what he could do to help me out and just a couple of minutes later had my Jeep up on the hoist fixing my exhaust...and also letting me know of a couple other issues I had with my vehicle...I will definitally be bringing my Jeep here again and I will be letting all of my brothers and sisters know in the Fire Dept that this is the shop too come to for repairs..Very Proud and Thankful to have recieved that kind of service from an honest company. more

I needed to have a small cutom job done that involved strechtcing some pieces of stainless steel tubing. Even though it was close to quitting time and I interrupted dinner - the owner Steve took me right in and got it done. Will definetly go back. If you need any custom work done give him a shout the are great folks to deal with. more

I was told that my exhaust had a very simple problem with it and to go to muffler man to fix because they are reasonable. Well I went to the one on Plainfield and they were more than reasonable. I was afraid that I would go somewhere and they would look at me and go, ""oh, hey this is woman who doesn't know anything we can make her replace her whole exhaust system and not even know that she doesn't have to!"" But instead I told them I was student and I needed it done the cheapest they could and that I knew exactly what was going on with it and they fixed for only $75 and were gracious enough to let me run to the bank! I would say over all, I would go to them again! Great place! more

I was in there earlier today and had steve take a look at my muffler. He welded it up for me and it purrs like an alley cat now! Thanks so much Steve. Rebecca was a charming lady as well , very easy to talk to and friendly. Great expierence all in all. I suggest you call ahead of time though cause Steve is a busy guy. Keep up the good work! It had been a really long day for me. I had to run around for several errands. At one stop i forgot to grab my purse out of my car and locked my keys in my car. I wasnt sure what to do. I called my husband and he picked me up and we thought we would just go ask where we could go to get someone to unlock my car. When we pulled into Muffler Man at 8:00pm they were closed so i didnt think that they would be willing to help but it was worth a shot! Steve at Muffler Man, the owner, came right up front to greet me with a smile and asked if there was something he could help me with. i explained the situation and asked if he knew if there was a place i could call. He didnt even hesitate to get in his own truck and drive over to help me! And he did it for free!! I highly reccomend Steve because he is very kind and willing to help out even at last second! Didnt even make me feel bad or stupid for locking my keys in my car! Just came with a smile and unlocked my door in a matter of 10 minutes! Thank you Steve, Stephannie Stiefel more

Although may companies deliver great service (and many more do not), Steve at Muffler Man goes above and beyond his duties as a mechanic. I'm truly glad to have made his acquaintence in recent years. I know that whatever car problem I have Steve will do his best to make it right....and at a very reasonable price. As a first time customer I was blown away by the level of honesty I received when I dropped my car off with a problem I thought I had. It turned out the problem I thought I was having was nothing but they did find a few other issues. I was made aware of these new issues and was told they are not a priority at this time and can be addressed at a later date. When I picked up the car I was showed where the new issues were and was able to drive off paying only for the oil change I had requested. I could have been told my car need all the repairs done today but was given an education on what needed help and why and when I could have the issues fixed. You have a new customer! more

My husband needed a muffler for his 2003 Saturn, and the muffler was priced at over $600, so the owner was nice enough to call around , and find us a used muffler for $285.14 with tax! We went and picked up the muffler at a Chevy dealer, brought it back to them, and then they installed it for just $60, which was a savings of over $300! And everyone there was so nice, too. Not many places will take the time to save you that much money, and in today's economy......it really helps. We would highly recommend their services..........you won't be disappointed. OOps correction we only spent $260. 86 with tax on the muffler the wonderful owner found us. Thanks again! more

I spun out on the highway and was stuck in snow so high i couldnt get out of my car. The owner of this company drove up and said "" I dont have much time, so lets get this done!"" He hooked up my car to his truck and had me out in less then a minute when no one else would stop to help! thank you so very much!!! My family couldnt thank him enough. If it werent for him then i would have been out there for a lot longer then i was. I recommend his services to anyone! more
