My dog needed attention for an eye injury and my regular vet was closed for xmas weekend. I took my pet here only to be prescribed the wrong medication. I took my pet to my vet when the eye was not getting better. After getting the proper medication the eye improved immediateley. I paid $100 for Mountain Ridge to help my animal but they failed. My vet & the eye specialist we saw were confussed as to why they would prescribe topical medication for this injury which only made the injury worse. When I complained they said the eye was not swollen but it was and even more so when we were seen. They were trying to blame me for their inablilty to assess the injury. I depended on their expertise to make my pet better and they failed. This was a $100 mistake. Avoid this place. more

Honest Review of a Poor Animal Hospital 12/5/2011

My original HONEST Reveiw was removed so I am reposting my issues for others to read. Some how other reviewers that left poor reviews were also removed so it is a concern of mine that this animal hospital does not want others to know the TRUTH! In January of 2010, I elected to do Stem Cell Treatment on my arthritic Lab clearly knew the costs that is involved. I know the surgery involves removing a small amount of fat to harness these stem cells, but had no idea that he would have over 20 staples down his side adding to his increased discomfort for an additional 2 weeks - only increasing the amount of more drugs for pain meds. This was officially his third surgery, it was my goal to make him more comfortable allowing his own bodies ability to heal and regenerate where the stem cells were injected. After 6 months I saw very little improvement and all Dr. Landry wanted to do was prescribe MORE DRUGS at an increase to my already tight budget. He had a new pill that he wanted me to "try" already had it dispensed with my name on it before he even met with me and my dog as a follow up, only later to find out it would cost an additional $5/day. I find this practice to be completely unethical to have medication dispensed with my name on it before even discussing this with me as well as knowing I have spent over $6,500 along with other expensive medications. It became quite clear to me pretty fast that Dr. Landry not only lacks communication skills and tack but also little consideration of people's budget. Dr. Landry emits an arragence and clearly is in business to make money as he tried to make many attempts to justify his horrible communications tatics. Sadly, my best friend pasted away from Cancer, something he most likely had prior to the stem cell surgery treatment as I never saw any blood work results. My plea to others seeking Stem Cell for their pets PLEASE do your research, there are many vets out there that have real compassion and understanding to people's needs. there are also newer improved techniques for helping our old friends with arthritis at a much more cost effective approach and a faster recovery. If my review gets pulled again, I WILL re-post it, people must know! more

Refused Emergency Medical Attention 9/9/2010

While out of town, my cat was found to be puking blood. While I had never been to Mountain Ridge Animal Hospital before, they had been recommended to me. I had my catsitter start the drive to them, while I called ahead to give them my information and let them know the situation. They refused to treat my cat without my signature. My cat sitters signature was not good enough. My verbal authorization was not good enough. When I told them that my cat was dying and needed immediate attention, they hung up on me. My cat was taken to another vet, and a week later he is doing well and being his normal self. The immediate care that he received literally saved his life. I would not trust these people with my enemies dog. more

Progressive affordable Care--Thank you 7/1/2010

Amazing Care, Amazing Staff, Amazing Doctors. This hospital, unlike any other, provides the highest standard of care for our family and our family pets. We should all be appreciative for such a facility and making such standard of care more affordable. Dr. Landry is amazing. Thank you for doing so much for our kids. From your compassionate care, continual concern and true passion for providing a better quality of life for our family pets. Thank you for supporting your community and dedicating all your time to your patients. People such as TrailGoddess should be taken without merit. I have been a client of Mountain Ridge since 2004 and know for a fact that they are the most caring , compassionate professionals I know. Clearly TrailGoddess attempted to manipulate her dogs care and was held to a higher standard of accountability. Classic behavior of people who want something for nothing. If you look for excellence in care, Mountain Ridge stands alone!! Pros: progressive, knowledgeable, compassionate more

Excellent Pet Care 4/23/2010

I had two recent animal emergencies. My cat fell of the deck & had a severely fractured front leg and then less than a week later my dog with terminal cancer had a sudden down turn. MRAH was there for me both times, quickly, efficiently & professionally. My animals were tended to and cared for compassionately. I was impressed & heartened by Dr. Landry, Tammy, Alex, Michele & other staff members for their assistance through a difficult week and recommend them highly. Pros: Informed, caring & compassionate staff more

Truly horrible 3/15/2010

This last summer I had to have my dog put down and I was devastated. The people there were not comforting at all, the girls up front (particularly the short skinny brunette and the tall thin brunette). That wasn't the worst part... when I went to pick up my dogs ashes I waited for ever.. and when she brought them out to me I noticed the paw print looked totally off, the print was much smaller than my dogs. I had held his paw many times and we had actually done some paw prints for fun with my child. When I got home I compared them and I was right, It was not my dogs paw print. So I immediately called and asked to speak to the owner. I was put on hold forever by a girl named Tammy, (who I later figured out to be the girl that brought me the print) and was told that he would call me back. At this point I was LIVID not only did this girl give me someone else dogs paw print she was trying to cover it up. Eventually I was able to talk to him and he assured me that it was some sort of innocent "mix up". They were never able to find the real paw print , and to this day I believe that she could not find it so she went back in the kennel and got one from someone elses dog and tried to pass it off as mine. If they can be this dishonest about something like this, what else are they capable of? I will never take any of my pets there again and I advise you not to either. Pros: Clean Cons: Dishonest more
