Editorial review from Citysearch 12/31/2012

Well, I have used Moscariello's for the last time. I have been buying major equipment there for years, wanting to patronize the local small merchants near me, and expecting they will give me decent service. But they act like I am an imposition every time I call and getting a snow-blower fixed takes days to get picked up and weeks to repair. When I have called to ask them to pick up the snow blower in the summer and take as long as they want to do a tune up, they say they don't take snow-blowers in the summer. They are a lose-lose proposition. Don't use them. Google small engine repair and get your machine fixed in a day or two. more

The worst customer service. 1/20/2011

My husband and I purchased a snowblower there 3 or 4 years ago. We have it serviced every year, when it stopped working after the last storm I called to see when they could pick it up and have a look. His reply was that it was going to snow tomorrow and they don't drive in the snow. OK So, I guess your customers get to sit at home til it is convenient for them. Prior to that we bought a chainsaw, when I brought it in to have the chain adjusted, they charged me over $80 for a ""tune-up"". I will never purchase anything there again. I don't mind paying for my equipment but I would like to have the service that I didn't think I would get from the larger stores. So much for that idea! more

Stay Away 6/23/2009

Stay away from Moscariello Equipment Inc. in Acton, MA. They?re dishonest. I brought in my lawn mower because it wouldn?t start. Two weeks later they called me to say I could pick it up: it was fixed. The repair person said he flushed it out and put in a new spark plug. He said there was water in it and that I should get new gasoline (and get rid of my old gasoline). On the way home I did buy a new gasoline tank and fill it with new gas. When I got home I did not add any gasoline because Moscariello had filled it with gas. However, I could not start my mower. I brought the mower back to Moscariello and expressed my concern the mower didn?t work. The salesperson?s response was ?It?s only a lawn mower,? implying that I shouldn?t be upset that I spent $56.00 and my mower wasn?t repaired and that I had to spend an additional hour of my time driving back and forth to Moscariello. The salesperson opened up the carburetor and said there was water in it. When I explained that I didn?t add any gasoline, he said ?You?re lying,? that I put water into the mower. He said they?d fix it. Two days later I called. He said it was fixed and that they were charging me for the water in the mower and if I wanted the mower back, I?d have to pay the charge. I said there was no way I was going to pay for additional repair when they never fixed the mower to begin with. Though I am now without a mower, anyone considering having their mower or any other equipment repaired at Moscariello should stay away. They?re dishonest and unethical. Their customer service is real old-school: the customer be dammed. They?re great at taking customers? money but, buyer beware, they won?t stand by their repair work. Cons: Dishonest. Bad customer service. more
