Amazing Comfort and Care 3/11/2009

We have been going to this wonderful people for 5 years now. We have had to have two of our much loved dogs put down and they are absolutely amazing through the process. This includes a handwritten card a few days after expressing their concern for us. I have never felt pressure to do unwanted procedures or medications. They have always followed up with our pets after a more serious visit. We moved 30 minutes away and still continue to take our littles ones to Moreland Veterinary Hospital. We have a dedication to them because they have always had a dedication to us! Pros: great staff, genuine care, Cons: none! more

Quality care, kind staff 9/3/2008

I have seen two doctors here - Dr Davis and Dr Kay Bruno. Both are great. Very attentive, good with my animals. The techs are competent and personable. I've had a few problems with communication through the front desk people but unfortunately that seems pretty common in this world. Pros: Good vets and techs Cons: Can get a bit behind on busy days; small waiting area more

Ask for Dr. Bob 4/24/2008

Dr. Bob and his wife (the Brunos) are both great. They have taken wonderful care of our golden retriever and two cats. We had to have them put one of our cats to sleep and the staff were kind. We have not been as pleased with the other, newer male Dr. (I can't recall his name, sorry!) His tableside manner is standoffish and he is constantly pushing expensive procedures and meds.\r \r So, just request Dr. Bob when you make an appointment! Pros: Dr. Bob Cons: Other Guy more

Weak front desk communication 6/4/2007

Front desk people are nice...but we have left messages with front desk with questions and they never call back. Not sure why this is the case....but not very professional.\r \r Also...we were told flea medication (frontline, revolution) would not be sold without vet permission. We were puzzled because our former vet clinic had sold it with no problem. Front desk gal said there was a "new law" that prohibited them from selling to us without vet permission or in some cases they have to see your pet first. We now know this is not true..so that was a bit odd as well that we are seemingly lied to. more

professional, friendly and caring 6/22/2006

I feel extremely lucky to have this clinic in my neighborhood. We've had two emergencies and both times were given prompt service, and the cats were given excellent care. Both are fine now.\r Recently, our elderly dog had to be euthanized and the entire staff was repectful and honestly touched by our loss. It made the process easier, which also helps with the healing. \r I've loved animals all my life and I can tell this is a place that loves them too. Pros: location, staff and medical care given more

Down to earth and friendly staff. Easygoing and straightforward doctors. Chihuahas and kittens climbing all over the counters. Treats. What's not to like? Pros: people Cons: not enough evening appointments available more

Reptiles Need Vets Too! 5/21/2006

I have a pet turtle who has been with me for years. He's really very healthy and doesn't need much vet care, but about a year ago, his toe nails kept growing and I couldn't get them to wear down properly. I called around trying to find a vet who would do a check up on my turtle and clip his toenails. I finally called Moreland Veterinary Hospital and found that they do work on turtles! So my turtle and I took a trip to the vet. They were absolutely wonderful! They taught me some things I didn't know about my turtle, clipped his nails and did a thorough check up. Their prices were reasonable and we left happy! more

High quality, honest care 1/17/2006

These guys are the best. The care is as good or better than any clinic in town, and they don't nickle and dime you for every little thing. If you are on a tight budget they will happily work with you to see if there are aspects of your pet's care you can do at home so you can avoid a costly hospital stay. When I had to euthanize my cat I got a card signed by all the doctors and clinic staff. Knowledgeable, competent and compassionate care. Pros: service, value, quality care more

Wonderful vetrinary clinic 9/3/2005

We took our two dogs to this clinic when we lived in SE Portland and they were treated so well here. Even the most basic and routine procedures were explained to us and they always took the time to remember our dogs' names and to treat them with care and respect. Their charges were not excessive and they do offer discounts on vaccinations on certain days (I can't remember for sure, but I believe it's 10% and I think it's Tuesday or Wednesday). I always felt comfortable leaving our dogs there and I would recommend this clinic to anyone without reservation. more

Very caring Dr. and staff. Highly recommended. I've been to many vets and these guys are the best. Very professional but take the time to treat you and your pet with care. When my cats got fixed, they invited me to come check up on them during visiting hours! It really helped me not worry so much, particularly because the kittens were already playing again by the time I got there. more
