It's $8 to skate the night away at this retro rollerway and while you're welcome to BYO blades (you still have a pair don't you) expect to have some shade thrown your way by the graceful regulars twirling on their classic skates. more

Skating Palace is a Gift to those on wheels. 10/10/2012

Moonlight Rollerway is a fabulous skating palace! We have skated at 14 different rinks in California (North, South and Central), and Moonlight Rollerway is the best of them by far. The live organ music (and the skaters that attend it) are a delight. The floor is terrific, the people are kind, and the music makes you glide. Don't walk, run to Moonlight Rollerway. We drove 207 miles one way just to spend our evening skating there, and it would have been worth a drive twice as long. more

All Aboard The Moonlight Train!!! 4/30/2011

There is an old saying..."Don't believe anything you hear, and only half of what you see." I'll leave it to you to figure out what that means. You don't have to take anyone else's word or opinions about this rink or anyone else word about anything. How about you go find out for yourself and form your own opinions. It's called "Free Will."\r \r I'm a Professional Skater, or at least I skate and I get paid for it. Whatevers. Moonlight Rollerway is my home rink and I've skated there on and off for the past 20 years. Moonlight Rollerway is the "preferred roller rink of the entertainment industry." More movies, television shows, music videos, and commercials have been filmed at this roller rink than any other in the world. Many major actors and celebrities skate there every year. It is the host of numerous celebrity roller skating parties every year. Last year they served almost 73,000 skaters and hosted approx. 275 private parties. I just skated there last night with my friend and child acto more

Moonlight Rollerway Good Skating 3/27/2010

The reviews I have seen here are terrible. I have been skating about 5 years and Moonlight Rollerway is very nice. If you want to know what bad is, go to Skate Depot in Cerritos. The way I would describe Moonlight is strict, and perhaps a bit stodgy. It is a very family oriented skating facility. Do understand, they have their rules, and will stick to them. Their rental skates are pretty bad, they admit this themselves, but the skating floor is probably the best in so cal, although a bit small. On some sessions you can request music, on some not. The flow of traffic is generally a bit slower than at some other rinks. If you don't like skating rinks, fine, but don't foolishly bash Moonlight. As an experienced skater I can say that it is a very nice place to skate. (Better if you have you own skates) more

Pump it Up!! 3/1/2010

I love skating, and Moonlight is a great rink! Very clean, the floor is beautiful! but the music on wednesday gay night just stinks! I think the DJ is trapped in a gay time warp. It's sad because Moonlight, as far as I know is the only rink in LA that has a dedicated LGBT night. Hire a real DJ and turn this place into the moneymaker/funspot it has the potential to be! Come on...I just kringe when "It's Raining Men"is played. more

Awful and outdated. 7/29/2009

this place needs some life breathed into it. live organ music?! pizza thats frozen, the skates aren't sanitary, and all these senior citizens scream at you when you fall down. i went here for a birthday party and they wouldn't even let us bring in the cake. the workers are old, and mean. i could go on and on about the place. DON"T GO HERE. it smells like butt as well as being sweltering hott. more

sad 3/15/2009

I wish we had more choices for roller rinks in LA. It's sad that we have two choices, at best, including Skateland in Northridge. I suppose the rinks that do exist don't have to try very hard since they really don't have any competition. more

I have a great idea! 8/12/2008

How about, when we submit a review of a business which we have visited, we construct complete sentences with properly used words, spelling, punctuation, and an absence of run-on's? \r Why not also abstain from perpetuating the blatant racism while we're at it?\r Or shall we return to the small minded designation of 'Negroes only' day?\r Ah lovely, back to the sweet days of bigotry, hate, and narrow-mindedness!\r Folks, let's just do life and keep our spread of negativity out of the equation.\r Though I've taken the time to write this scathing retort wherein you may find fault...I found it greatly necessary to point out the lack of credibility a review contains when the writer does not exhibit some grasp of education, intelligence, legibility or embrace of humanity.\r \r Peace, love, and rudimentary writing skills anyone?\r \r Sincerely, \r \r Uptight English 'Teacher' and proponent of the 'right stuff' more

This place sucks 4/26/2008

This place has an awful atmosphere. People here make it their business to tell you what to do. They fuss if you are going to slow. They are snotty white people. It is like a clan meeting. more

Moonlight Rexing Days 10/1/2006

Moonlight Rollerway has not changed at all, I skated with the Ramblin' Rexers when we had all the rexing clubs. We now have got a list and web site on rexing in the old days.\r http://home.houston.rr.com/rexing/\r We now have contacted with all the old rexers and are planning a reunion. Any rexers feel free to join our group and renew old friendships PROS: Best Roller Rink around and Dominic owner and organist is the best CONS: No Cons about this rink more

oh way back when 11/14/2005

Wow, it has been ages since I've been to this roller rink, but I've had fond memories of it to this day. This place was very popular for me and my friends, and kids in general, to have birthday parties at. Everyone had fun rollerskating around really fast and sometimes falling down. I remember on birthdays we would always play limbo on rollers skates and I could never win. An awesome experience though, would like to go there again. more

Lets go roller skating 10/12/2005

Moonlight Roller Rink has been around forever, it seems. Although it is a lot of fun, they need to make some upgrades, since there is no other local roller rink. Its fairly cheap to skate, cheaper if you bring your own skates, though. There are two main areas to watch other skaters, but space is limited. They have food but it can get pricey, so bring extra money. The music is good, you can have birthday parties, and the rink games are a lot of fun. There are lockers for your personables, but they tend to break or get jammed A LOT! There are strict guidelines and lots of employees, close by, to see that they are enforced, which is a great thing for kids! Safety is definately number one at Moonlight Rink. They have devoted different days and hours to adults and kids, and I have found that sometimes 3 hours in the afternoon is just not enough for my kids, they'd stay longer if the hours were permitted. This place is a great tradition in my family, they just need a few minor adjustments to more

Editorial review from Insider Pages 12/25/2004

This is arguably the most historic roller skating rink in Los Angeles. Dominic plays live organ music weekly while people skate, which is pretty cool. They also have roller skating classes for kids. Though I have yet to do so, I think this would be a great place to take a date and relive the childhood memories of skating parties (didn't everyone have those in elementary school??) Wednesday night is gay skating night, so attend or avoid as your lifestyle leads you. Their web address is: http://www.moonlightrollerway.com more
