Monterrey is the only place (other than Taco Bell) where we eat Mexican. If you go there, definitely start out with the cheese dip to go with the ENDLESS free nachos. The salsa is excellent is well - not so hot your mouth feels like it's on fire. My husband swears by the taco salad, with extra sour cream of course, while I tend to go for the chicken soft tacos or the chicken quesadillas. Half the time though, we fill up on nachos and cheese dip before our food ever comes and I end up taking half of mine home.
There are a couple of TV's in corners, especially near the bar, usually playing sports. My husband likes to try out what little Spanish he knows on the waiters when ordering. Sometimes they just laugh at him, sometimes, I think they appreciate that he's at least making an effort to say the name of the combination correctly.
