Momotaro Sushi & Shabu Shabu Bar

Although it may be because we do not visit during rush hours, this restaurant seems rarely full and the service is excellent. We moved to the area about a month ago and have visited 4 times, with superb service every time. The waiter/waitress are all over your needs with a dirty plate almost never staying on the table for more than a few seconds and drink glasses constantly filled. The sushi is very fresh, especially the salmon, the miso soup is tasty, the short ribs delightful and the terriyaki chicken, served on a sizzling plate, is outstanding. The prices are a little high, but they currently have 20% off for in-house dining, which brings the bill down to a reasonable level. We will continue to visit this establishment. i know some one who work there , and the cook droped food on the floor picked it up and then served the food to the customer, the manager {arlene} told the sever to be quiet about it. i thought they had great food,until i heard that . more

Finally tried this Japanese restaurant and thought the service was excellent and the food was wonderful. After telling the waitress my likes and dislikes, she recommended the Momotaro Lasagna, which was to-die for. Every bite was a journey to heaven !!! And the other roll was crunchy on the outside was very very good also. The second time we went, we tried the short ribs and the baby backs and they were both very tender and very tasty. I also tried three flavors of the cold sake, which was a true adventure. The cheesecake is made right there and was one of the best I've had in a long time. Can't wait to go back. My daughter and I eat sushi twice a week at Momotaro! From the wait staff to the chefs, everyone is pleasant, courteous, and professional. The ambience is terrific. The staff knows what we want from the minute we walk in. Very comforting to be recognized. We have recommended Momotaro to family and friends. A great place to stop and eat on the way home from work! Great food at great prices. more

Ok, first things first....their customer service was horrible... My wife and I walked in and were seated promptly, but after that, I don't know what happened. We were practically ignored by the waitresses! They kept walking around us like we weren't even there and it wasn't even busy! Absolutely NOBODY approached us for literally like 10-15 minutes, not to even ask us what we would like to drink. We seriously almost walked out of the place! When a waitress FINALLY came over to our table, we ordered our food and ok, the food was alright, but I've had way better and for way less! Totally not worth the money we spent there! Let's just say that we've never went back there again and thank God Sushi Loca opened a couple miles away in the Wal-mart shopping center which has WAY better customer service and better food! Sorry! I also live near Momotaro, and I eat there often. Everything that I've ordered has been great. Their sushi is excellent and of very high quality, and their other menu items are great (bbq short ribs that just fall off the bone, excellent soft shell crab, etc.), and wonderful homemade desserts. The service is always quick and friendly. I cannot speak to the take-out experience, as I have never done that. I have seen folks picking up take-out. We go to Momotaro often. It's really convienent to our home and we've always received great service. At the tables the waitstaff is always attentive and at the sushi bar the chef was very entertaining and had great suggestions about what we might enjoy. Espescially since we don't know too much about sushi beyond california rolls! It's totally a great place to get acquainted with the world of sushi and they don't make you feel ignorant about the things you don't know. more

We've seen Momotaro as we drove by and always wanted to try it. Our friends had tried it and told us not to go since they were so new and still working out all the kinks. We figured maybe try their food To Go to see how it was. We went there around 6:00pm and the restaurant was about 3/4 full when we arrived and asked for a menu, To Go. We were informed by the hostess that they were not accepting To Go orders at this time. She offered us the menu and said we could call later. We were confused. She told us that the chefs were too busy to accept To Go orders and that we could call around 7:30pm or 8:00pm and try then. We left and left the menu behind and went to Sushi Ko (off the 95 at Craig) down the street and ordered our To Go food and had an excellent meal. more
