As a hobbyist, I find this shop the best place for me to go. They sell different sports equipment that I need and the price is just right. Certainly a highly recommended one.

All around amazing 7/20/2010

Mitchs is a very good place to go. They hav a wide selection of surfboards,skimboards, longboards, wetsuits, clothing, and accessories (surf maps, surfboard pads etc.) The owner, mitch, is very nice and very insightful. Not only am I proud to shop there, but I am also proud to wear their clothing. more

Awesome surf shop 4/6/2009

Whenever I have out of town guests I always bring them by Mitch's Surf Shop for a true Cali surf shop experience.\r \r Several friends have bought their wet suits here (guys & girls) and everybody has been very happy with them. more

Everything you Need and More 3/7/2009

Mitch's is the only place to shop if your a surfer skater or just like cruising the boardwalk. They have the best stuff there including this guy's own line of stuff called Matuse brand or something. It's really excellent merchandise not to mention everyone that works there is really easy to talk to and really knowledgeable. They sell there own clothes there to and I wear their shirts around constantly. Truly a la jolla legend. more

LANDMARK IN lA jOLLA 10/6/2008

Mitch's has been at this location forever.I use to go there 35 years ago to buy surfboard blanks, and resin to make my boards.Now he sells everything - surfboards, wetsuits, clothes, and accessories. Anything related to surfing, and Mitch has it. Not only does he have it, but has the best stock of shapes, sizes, styles etc.The cool thing is that when I go in there Mitch is still working! Parking can sometimes be difficult, but just go around, and park on the side street. more

Great store! 2/15/2008

I love this place. It's such a nice local surf shop. They have a ton of surfboards and all the things you need to surf, wetsuits, wax all that. It's awesome if you live in the area. Mitch is super nice too. more

Great, Local Surf Shop 2/15/2008

Mitch's has a wide selection of surfboards, wetsuits, and so many other merchandise. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Mitch, the owner of the store is also there a lot of the time. He can be seen surfing at many local breaks, so he knows what is best to sell at his store. more

The guy that worked at this place was very informative and helpful... he seemed very knowledgable about their products. They've got adequate slection and diverse range of products...wet suits, surf/skateboards, clothing, accessories, etc... The store is a bit crowded and parking can be a hassle...but overall a good surf store and decent prices. more

i love this place 10/31/2005

Although the boards are a little pricey, they are awesome. They are shaped by local shapers, and are just what the average rider needs. Unless you know exactly what you want, this place caters to you. The staff is super knowledgeable and will set you up with a sweet ride just for you. They are not there to sell you anything, just there to help you make the right decision. I have bought several boards there and have never been disappointed. I love this place (and the one in Encinitas) I think the one in encinitas is a little better with a little more room and slightly nice staff.... PROS: great boards and knowledgeable staff CONS: a little small more

Surf shop 8/9/2005

Mitch's has a pretty good selection of boards to choose from. There is also a lot of very friendly people that work there and they are very helpful. Mitch's has a friendly feel to it. more
