While I made the best of my 3 day trip there (for an event being held), I will not be back. The person who checked us in was rude, I had to provide all kinds of private information due to 'homeland security' rules (I have camped at numerous campgrounds in and around VA and have never been asked for such info) and I had to pay nearly $10 in taxes!! Not only that, but she placed us as far away from the site of the event as she could. We asked to be close to the event and someone who decided to leave early overheard our conversation and offered his site to us but she said all the sites around our event were 'unavailable'. Imagine how my husband and I felt when every day we were there we observed multiple open camping spaces that were not used. And to make matters worse, she did not want to give us our (small) group discount. I had to ask her to inquire with the owner of the campground and/or the director of the event. Only then would she give me my discount.
It is a shame too, it is a beautiful place to park. Oh, and the sign on the bathhouse/room door said that they are 'not responsible' for the uncleanliness of the bathhouse. THAT I have never seen at any place of business!
Pros: Beautiful, convenient location
Cons: Broken equipment, poor service, unsanitary bathrooms
