Has it reopened yet? 5/28/2009

Does anyone know if and when the restaurant will reopen? The sign on the window said ""Closed for renovations, reopening soon,"" but it has been closed for months and months. How about an update? Pros: Good food Cons: Buffet price keeps rising more

What Happened?! 1/21/2009

Until finding Minerva, I was terribly disappointed with the Indian food I found throughout Atlanta. Minerva was different: consistently delicious dishes , varied menu -- and large portions! A couple of weeks ago, we were dismayed to find a sign on the restaurant ""closed for renovation."" I sure hope they're re-opening! Pros: Wonderful food at a fair price. Even enjoy the Bollywood videos which always run. Cons: A bit gloomy inside -- but the food outweighs the atmosphere more

The Management and staff need etiquette lesson ASAP !!! 7/25/2008

After reading some good reviews I went to Minerva with high hopes. I'm an Indian and have lived in different cities in US(& in India) and tasted different Indian cuisines. Usually I'm apprehensive about Indian food wherever I go. Same menu everywhere !! And surprisingly they all try to keep the taste almost identical. I don't know how they manage it? Anyway, back to Minerva. The decor was consistent with other Indian restaurants in the United States, i.e. dimly lit(in a bad way), gloomy, playing the same bollywood tunes. But this one had a TV and a projection screen on which they play bollywood videos/channels on the weekend which is fine. I've tried a lunch buffet and a dinner. Though the items in the buffet were limited the taste was decent. As usual the waiters/servers were hovering around you asking every 2 mins whether you needed anything else. But they never bother to take your plate once your done with it. It keeps on piling. At last when I requested they cleared the table grudgingly(Palace is better in this situation). So me and my wife finished our lunch and asked for the check. After waiting a while we went to the front desk to pay the bill. I gave him my card and promptly was the reply - ""Sir the machine is not working"". So my wife paid the bill in cash. But wait a minute while we were at the door an American customer paid his bill with his card !!! Discrimination!!! The dinner experience was almost similar. May be the American customers get a fair deal. And the Indians seem to ignore it. The washroom was also in-sync with other Indian restaurants in the US. The cheapest available hand soap (usually in Pink) and the cheapest available paper towels(usually brown). Overall it was an ordinary experience. May be the Americans get a better service. But I'm not going to that place again. Pros: Very Little Cons: A lot more

Best Indian restauarant in Atlanta 5/31/2008

This restaurant has huge variety of food from South indian,North Indian to chineese,All the dishes are up to the mark and there are about 50 plus varieties.Has huge space aroung 10,000 square foot.Probably the biggest i have seen in USA for an Indian restauarant.Definitely lives up to the hype of Minerva chain of restaurants. The only negative is that you have to sleep after your food as u will be filling ur stomach to the root.Bottom line excellent food. more

A word of caution !!! 2/22/2008

Anybody who loves Indian good should not even think of jumping to this place to spoil mood, time, money and taste. Highly unflavoured food, unorganised and pathetic service. Lot of people to take order but none will return with the thing you ordered. You have to remind them multiple times to get order served, and once served they forget to ask again, and even if they ask... they won't bring that until and unless you literally cry for it. Worst experience of meal in any Indian restaurants. Pros: lot of people to take order Cons: They won't serve... :) more

Great authentic HOT and spicy Indian food. 9/21/2007

Buffet is awesome. So many selections. Can be traditionally HOT and spicy so those Americans looking for bland Americanized food might not appreciate. Who cares. Look at the crowd, plenty of Indians which means what? It's good that's what.Excellent quality, from South to North Indian and all done well. The dinner service shines and the portions and thalis large, good price as well. Good, attentive service as well. The floor manager has always been exceptional. Great place to bring hyper kids apparently, so not recommended for a romantic outing. Pros: Food, Price, service, good place for kids Cons: not romantic more

Awesome food for nice price 9/3/2007

Great food, average ambience, awesome lunch buffet! I highly recommend this place to anybody who loves Indian food. Usually lunch buffet consists of atleast 30 items. On my last visit some of the items were as follows: non-veg - chicken biryani, mutton biryani, chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, mutton korma, tandoori chicken, etc. veg - naan, roti, idli & sambhar, dosa & chutney, mutter paneer, aloo gobi, aloo manchurian, etc. Wow the list goes on and on. It does get crowded and loud so may not be ideal for a romantic lunch date, however if your date is a good food lover then go ahead and knock yourselves out. Pros: food, price Cons: dishes sometimes not clean enough more

Best places to eat 8/5/2007

Some of the best Indian food in Atlanta 4/2/2007

Although I think there is still much to be improved regarding the caliber of Indian restaurants in Atlanta, Minerva does have some of the best tasting non-vegetarian and vegetarian food I've had here so far. I especially appreciated the diversity of food they offered; it wasn't just the standard chicken tikka and muttar paneer. It also was flavorful food without being too spicy. I agree that the service could be improved there, but go for a Sunday brunch--it was worth it. more

Indian Restaurant without Samosas!! 11/21/2006

What kinda of Indian restaurant is this without samosas. Most of the items in the menu are not available like spring rolls, cutmirchi, chinese items... Why to keep in the menu when they dont serve. It is so ambarrasing when we come with American friends. They are very fond of samosas. Is there any one to take care of this!! more

Worst service 8/9/2006

Not Good 9/30/2005

A friend of mine recommended this place and I went to have dinner. It is very expensive and the place is like a school dining room. The food was very greasy and tasted bad. May be lunch is better. But surely dinner is very bad in this place. Cons: Food, Style, Expensive more

Excellent Indian Food. 9/3/2005

Typical Indian hot/spicy Restaurant 8/30/2005

One of the largest Indian buffets in Atlanta. Typical Indian restaurant provides extreme hot and spicy food. Better have few chili peppers prefixed with Minerva Restaurant to caution non-spicy eaters. Never recommend anyone. Pros: largest indian, buffett Cons: hot, spicy more
