What an inciteful review, Bob. Your experience might have passed as the act of a naive, thoughtless, unempathetic clerk. But you figured this just might be an Amish thing. I think I have a better idea of whats going on Sundays when I see those buggies amased at one of their farmhouses. And to think I nearly did business with one. My daughter and I live in Steelton Pa. Close to Harrisburg. This was her first visit to Millers Natural Foods. After shopping, my daughter went to the checkout while I went out to the car. The bill was $98.79. She paid cash with a hundred dollar bill and recieved $1.21 change. She didn;t check her reciept until after we got home. On the reciept was a $40.46 item that we didn't purchase. I gathered all of our merchandise and headed back down to Millers. After showing the lady clerk the reciept, she asked me if we bought an avocado. I said that I did. She said the man that checked us made a mistake by typing in the PO number of the avocado instead of the $1.25 for the avocado. She reimbursed the $40.46 but that I had to pay for the avocado.I said, what are you saying, that I now have to pay for the avocado after He made the mistake and I had to drive back down here from Harrisburg? She smiled and nodded her head yes. If that's the way the Amish treat their customers, I'll never set foot in there again and neither will any of my family and friends. Cons: Thumbs down more
