The Best Martini 1/14/2007

The Milky Way Lounge and Lanes in Jamaica Plain has a martini called the Apple Cider Martini. This martini is amazing! The glass is rimmed with cinnamon and sugar and filled to the brim with apple cider goodness. It is made with vodka, Tuaca Liqueur, and fresh apple cider. It is cold and refreshing. I have never seen this drink on a menu before but will start looking for at other bars. It was delish! more

Modern Beer and Bowling 5/14/2006

The Milky Way Lounge and Lanes are just terrific fun: bowling, blinky lights, beer, pizza (even better, Bella Luna pizza), and live shows. It's a fun place to come with a group, and you can rent bowling shoes. When there's a crowd you can just get a drink and hang out waiting for your lane to be ready. Excellent people watching. Open late. Definitely more for grownups than for kids, especially in the evening. more

Great Casual Spot 2/5/2006

The Milky Way Lounge and Lanes in Jamaica Plain is a bit off the beaten path of Boston's more typical bars and clubs, but it's so much fun that it's hard not to justify the trip. The bar itself serves excellent drink specials and patrons can always be entertained by their bowling games or the karaoke lounge. Bring your earplugs if you can't stand amateur crooners- it seems like everyone gets the urge to take the stage here (for better or for worse). The staff and service is always super friendly and there is little city-pretention here! more

Fun for everyone 7/21/2005

The Milky Way Lounge is one of my favorite bars in Jamaica Plain. It is one of the few places where children over a certain age are welcome, and there is a great feel to the place. They have a few lanes of candlepin bowling, which is fun for everyone, numerous arcade games, and other fun things. They often have special nights (karaoke, salsa dancing) and special events. As a single mom, once in a while I want to have a glass of beer and bowl and not have to worry about a sitter! This place is just great! more
