Milford National Bank & Trust

They just haven't changed with the times. They are still on of the only banks that closes at 4:00 early in the week and at 6:30 on Thursday and Friday. They don't mean to make mistakes or don't, but their system seems extremely outdated. For instance. I opened a new savings and tried transferring funds and withdrawing funds from my savings. I had to go to the bank multiple times and it took a month before I gave up. I tried a couple months later and they finally had it fixed. They keep giving the excuse that everything should be working and they don't understand why it wouldn't. Today however, was the straw that broke the camels back, I called and authorized a large payment, everything was supposedly all set. I tried making the payment and it was denied. Even though I called early in the Morning and it was supposedly all set. It now wasn't I played phone tag between the company trying to make the charge and the bank. Then I got a call from fraud department. (Which is a sigh of relief that they are monitoring, but again, I called earlier and made the bank aware.) Milford National did everything they could, but again, They just couldn't understand why it wasn't working. Then the transfer I made last night hadn't processed yet and they put it in manually. After that? Still nothing. On top of that your online banking is updated manually. Have a transaction that took place over the weekend? Well that doesn't post until someone comes in Monday (unless its a holiday) Other than that though, the online bill pay is awesome and is done very well. Need support after hours like I did today, ruining your chances of filing something on time and knocking you out of a trade show? Well they simply don't offer that either. As I said I don't blame the employees, but this is a bank that has tried to modernize with the times and failed to keep up with the pace. Probably going to TD Bank since I can at least get in the door by 7. Other than that dealing with them especially face to face is a pleasure and they are very good at making you feel welcome. If you just do basic banking they really can't be beat. more

MNB has no oversight of the accounts they manage. Recently I had $2200 processed within 2 business days from Mexican locations where it was clear this was fraud. We became aware of this prior to them and I was informed they have no policy of monitoring or contacting their customers with this sort of abnormal activity. Strangely, I have spoken to numerous people where their bank had been more proactive in monitoring their accounts. Don't trust your money with them if you would like to keep it. more

I just refinanced with MNB and it has been the easiest experience. The mortgage officer was pleasant and made the whole process easy. If you've ever refinanced before it can be a nightmare of paperwork and more paperwork and that's before they even let you know your in!! MNB basically took all the paperwork out of it. We sat with a mort. officer for about 20 minutes - he basically interviewed us getting all of our financial info. Then he counseled us on the best loan for our needs. He pointed us in a totally different direction than we were thinking and has actually saved us money. Imagine that!! They are again a home town bank and you really get that feeling that you are special - not just a bank account number. more
