Best

Miki never disappoints. Period.

Worst

Delivery guy was rude and food was ice cold even though we only live about 3 blocks away (we were both sick, which is why we didn't walk to pick it up).

excellent sushi, a little over priced however. more

based on the poor quality of the food I received and the lack of interest in correcting the matter, it will be a VERY long time before I order from here. more

Another Japanese food disappointment from AA. First the good: By Ann Arbor standards, the sushi is pretty tasty. The rice was fresh and the fish was pretty fresh. This is the only place that makes spicy tuna rolls the way I like them - rather than just squirting spicy mayo over a tuna roll, they mix it together before wrapping it. yum. And the Edamame was perfect. the Bad - Also by Ann Arbor standards, this place is wayyy overpriced. $5 for Edamame? Common. More importantly, any of the Japanese food that isn't sushi is terrible! The udon is clearly from a pre-packaged packet of noodles and too small - more like spaghetti than udon. The Korean food is similarly bad and overpriced. The bulgogi is stringy and more onion than beef. The rice that came in the bento box was overcooked and mushy. They wouldn't substitute anything for the California roll, even a roll that is the same price. more

sooo good! the freshest sushi in town! more

Best sushi I've ever had 4/20/2008

My boyfriend and I eat here at least once a week, mainly because I can't get enough of their special roll called the Hawaiin roll which blends the California Roll with mango, kiwi and a sweet sauce on top. The fish cuts are fresh and pretty large and the service is outstanding. You will never see the bottom of your cup of green tea! If you are looking for a nice place for sushi that isn't overpriced, I highly recommend Miki! Pros: great service, great selection Cons: parking more

Best Sushi 10/19/2006

This restaurant changed ownership in 2004 and it has done nothing but improve since. The sushi is always the freshest available and the wait staff attentive. If you like uni there is simply none better. I've sampled probably about 1/2 the menu, and although I do have my favorites, there is simply nothing there that was disappointing. Prices were reasonable, quality outstanding, highly recommended overall when in Ann Arbor! Pros: It's all good! Cons: Limited seating and it get's busy during dinner. You may have to wait if your group is larger than 4. Reserving a private room for larger groups is recommended. more

Excellent Quality and Value 9/10/2005

Tasty sushi in a non-pretentious setting. We had more reasonably priced rolls and were completely content. Recommended: spicy tuna roll (twice as large as normal!) and the eel and avocado. When you see lots of Japanese people at a sushi joint, like we did tonight, you can expect it'll be good! more

Best sushi in Michigan 7/7/2003

Miki has the best sushi in Michigan. I've eaten at dozens of sushi places and this place knows how to make their sushi. However, the place definitely needs an upgrade as far as ambience goes. Many other sushi places are much trendier. Also, the service is inconsistent, but I still eat here at least twice a month. Pros: Food quality, Parking validation Cons: Ambience, Inconsistent service more

Top marks for Calif.Rolls 12/3/2002

The best california rolls in NorthAmerica! I have tried them from coast to coast and have found Miki has the best, sweet and subtle. Over all the sushi is top quality in flavor and texture, however at times, it does not stand up when it comes to construction. Be sure to try the ice cold plum wine. more

Consistent Japanese in AA 10/16/2002

Most reliable Japanese food in Ann Arbor. I've been all over town at the various Japanese restaurants, and I've settled on Miki. Over the years, they have remained the most consistent in quality. Favorites are: Nabeyaki Udon, Eel and Asparagus rolls, Spicy Tuna rolls, and California rolls. The tempura is pretty good too. A great place for lunch--avoid the weekend crowds. Pros: consistent quality Cons: sushi slow when busy more

Mediocre sushi 9/18/2002

Maybe they should learn how to make a good sushi rice from a Japanese chef. I am from Japan and I know how the shushi rice should taste like - too much rice vinegar and not enough sugar. Also, its sushi was not rolled well and each piece would fall apart when you dip it in soy sauce. I would not go back to Miki again unless its free. more

Not a great place for the weekend 6/10/2002

Sushi was not fresh (most of them are still frozen and very thin sliced) Overpriced. Kind, but not so attentive staffs... more
