I lived in these apartments for 3 years so I know enough to write a respectable review. When we FIRST moved in, management was phenomenal (I'm not using that word lightly)! If you had a problem with your heat, air, water, whatever it may have you, they were quick to solve the problem, whether it was by deducting a nice amount from your rent or a reimbursement. They new their stuff and as a plus, they had pool parties with great prizes such as free rent or half off. It was great. They were extremely professional to top it of.
About a year or so later, staff at the management office was dropping like flies, I figured something was going on that wasn't right. Within three months, the entire staff is replaced. About six months to a year later, the entire staff was replaced again, then once more after that! It all happened in the blink of an eye. And every replacement they made, management got worse and worse. If you switch jobs and your pay day falls on a a different pay period than your last, don't expect them work with you, because they won't, you'll just get a $100 late fee added to your rent. They don't documentate ANYTHING, or if you do have anything on file, it's from management three years prior. Don't expect them to know what your talking about if you ask them about something you went over with them two weeks ago, because it was not recorded. On a professional business level, I would grade the workers with a ""D, sparing them an F for professional attire. They work on a ""personal"" level as opposed to a business level, so if you say or ask something they disagree with, expect them to be very short tempered and juvenile. They're always running around like chickens with their heads cut off because they are extremely unorganized and have no idea what they're doing. They constantly send out typos to your apartment saying you're late on rent and that they'll fine you $100 late fee if you don't give them their money, even if rent is paid a week early.
In the winter, you do get rodents in your apartment because of the brook behind the building no matter what floor you're on, or how clean your house is. Maintenance is great, I have no problem with them, they get the job done on a timely matter, but I did have an instance when they left a pipe open, leaking carbon monoxide into our apartment for weeks and we didn't find out until a profession plumber came and told us. Not to mention our $300+ electric bill because the central air and heat is ""Bloody Awful"", as my guests always complained of how hot or too cold it always was.
To conclude, I will be honest with you, on the outside, everything looks beautiful with the renovations and exterior, and the grass does look greener on the other side. But once you sign that contract, all that's left for you is a prayer. Some people may be able to deal with all this trouble and stress bearing , poorly run management. But personally, I don't have tolerance for it. I run two companies, and if my staff ever performed the way this place does, I would clean house and carefully select workers with a sharp and impressive resume with 5 referrals.
