Good Veterinarians 3/25/2009

The veterinarians at Mid-North have been personable and attentive to our dog's needs. Good for your pet's annual check up and medication. Convenient location for those living in Lincoln Park and Lakeview. more

Good Facility 3/12/2009

Mid-North has a friendly group of staff members and veterinarians. However, if your pet is going in for something other than a yearly check-up or immunizations then you need to make sure that you're quite active in the decision making process. When our dog went in for his regular check-up, the vet noticed that his liver levels were high. Long story short, it ended up that the vet didn't think about the fact that the medication that he was on could be causing these high levels. If we hadn't raised that point, we could of possibly spent an excessive amount of money to find out nothing. The facility is a clean and healthy environment and is always in good condition when we are there.I'm not trying to discourage or not recommend this place, but as a pet owner you need to be active in the treatment process, if necessary. more

Worst mistake I made in my dog's life 9/14/2007

I sent my dog to Mid North Animal Hospital for 9 years. He was a patient from his first immunizations up until his death yesterday. A few years ago I realized that nearly every doctor in the office seemed to be more interested in prescribing expensive medications and running even pricier tests than what was actually in the best interest of my pet. I didn't switch because I was more afraid of the unkown and decided I was willing to pay more for what I thought was good care.\r \r It was the worst mistake I could have made. In his last year I have so many horror stories about the honesty of the staff than I can write. I feel like I let my pet down by not changing vets, it was a terrible mistake on my part. \r \r In his last days we had to call numerous vets and physicians to give us advice because the doctor we were dealing at Mid North was vague at best about our pet's condition. She wanted to run thousands of dollars in tests just to diagnose what every other expert we talked to told more

Worst mistake in my dog's life 9/14/2007

I brought my dog to Mid-North Animal Hospital for 9 years. From the time of his first immunizations until his recent death. I began to realize a few years in that the overall mentality of the doctors and staff was more about milking money out of people and less about giving quality care to their pets. I didn't switch then because my dog had already acquired quite a health history and I thought it was in his best interest to keep him with the doctors who were familiar with him. I was also afraid of the unkown. Pros: clean facility Cons: everything else more

The people here are wonderful. I will agree that there is one staff person who needs a major attitude adjustment however the rest of the staff is very friendly and helpful. More importantly, they do impeccable work on the animals. As an owner of a dog and a couple of cats and a rescue volunteer, I recommend this place to any dog lovers!! more
